Improved Adjustment from Previous Model

I have a dedicated L-bracket for one particular camera, but wanted one for occasional use on three other cameras without having to buy three separate dedicated L-brackets. I intended to buy the Elle G model, but found that it is apparently discontinued. After using this one I found that the sliding adjustment for different cameras is much simpler that the Elle G model and I am very well pleased.

No stops for the portrait orientation Arca plate

This L-Bracket is nicely made and works fine on my D500 in all ways but one -- there are no safety pin stops on the vertical Arca plate. I don't need the L-Bracket at all in the landscape direction, and because of this weird oversight on the part of the normally thoughtful 3 Legged Thing design team, this bracket is useless to me.

Can be used on A7iv

I bought this universal plate for my Sony A7iv since there's no actual fits for my new camera. It works for what you want it to do. The compartment doors for the usb cables won't open if you put the L bracket to close to the body. To solve that problem is to have the bracket away from the body or switch the bracket around. Only problem with switching the bracket around is that it's not as stable especially in portrait mode. It'll definitely get the job done though.

Great L Bracket

I love these L Brackets. I have three now and they are all solid and easy to use. I have the two QR-11's on a D700 and D850. Even though they are a generic fit L Bracket they fit my two camera bodies perfectly. I move them over slightly to be able to open the battery door. They cover the rubber connection covers nicely so they cannot be opened accidentally. I don't use these often so they are not in the way. Switching from landscape to portrait is a breeze and they are very secure. The come with an installation tool which is very handy to have in your kit. The machining and finish is great and the fit is secure.

I bought this bracket to make switching from landscape to portrait orientation easier, and it's very simple to use if you have an Arca Swiss compatible head. I love it. The only downside is it adds a little bit of weight to your camera.

A must have!

I haven't used it for long, but it has been a great tool so far. It makes it so much easier and quicker to switch from horizontal to vertical positioning without having to take time to rebalance the bubble level.

I'm wanting to use this on my Nikon D5500, and ...

I'm wanting to use this on my Nikon D5500, and realise that with a slight adjustment I will still have access to port and battery compartment. But my question is whether both battery and cable release port would be accessible at the same time. If I'm shooting a star trail I'm using the cable release but if my battery runs out I can usually change it between shots - not sure if that would be the case using this L bracket?
Asked by: Mirjam
Unfortunately, the battery door and the cable release slot would not be accessible at the same time. To alleviate the need for changing out the battery between shots, you can invest in a power supply such as the Tether Tools Case Relay Camera Power System Kit with Coupler for Nikon Cameras with EN-EL14 Battery, BH # TECRUPS110K7, which is able to connect with a USB battery bank such as the Tether Tools Rock Solid 10,000mAh External Battery Pack, BH # TERSBP10. This will give you an extended run time for shooting a star trail. The Case Relay itself also has a slow drip battery to allow power to be fed into the camera if you have to change out your USB battery at some point. https://bhpho.to/34kpbo4 https://bhpho.to/3naMKZi

Asked by: Nate
it's a universal bracket designed for many models for the landscape/portrait switch with the ability to shift the bracket outwards for cable port and/or battery access. If you're looking for a L bracket with cable and battery access as part of the bracket the Ellie bracket will do better.

I have an Olympus OMD1-MII will this L bracket allow me to have the screen open to the side? I seen other brackets that are not compatible this way
Asked by: Pedro
Hi Pedro, Our universal L-bracket will work for switching between portrait and landscape whilst maintaining the sensor in a similar position on the same focal plane. If you need access to the battery and/or cable doors then you might find you have to move the bracket out slightly to do so. As long as the bracket is tight, it is still safe to use. Our new Ellie-c or Ellie-g bracket will work a lot better with the screen. You can pre-order this on B&H.

I would use this bracket with a NIKON D90, 7000 and D610 all with grips. Any problems with using this product either vertically or horizontally? Will it fit properly. Would only be used to attach either horizontally or verically to a Arca Swiss tripod
Asked by: Harvey
While the QR-11-LC will fit all three of your cameras, it is meant for use without their battery grips, as the side portion of the bracket may restriction the access to the ports.
