Characterized by its sleek size, the AF 35mm f/2.8 FE Lens from Samyang is a compact wide-angle prime designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. Its versatile wide angle of view is well-suited to general shooting applications and its slim form factor is ideal for travel and everyday photography. The optical design incorporates a pair of aspherical elements and one high refractive index element to suppress spherical aberrations in order to achieve a high degree of sharpness and clarity throughout the aperture range. An Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to control flare and ghosting for increased contrast when working in strong lighting conditions. The lens's autofocus motor works in conjunction with Sony cameras' AF systems for quick and precise focusing performance, and manual focus override is also available for more refined control.

Samyang AF 35mm f/2.8 Reviews
Not Perfect, but Perfect for Me.
I've been in the market for an affordable, solid, lightweight lens to take around the city that also packs a punch. This lens fits the bill perfectly -- or nearly perfectly. Pros: The price is just right for my budget; picture quality is amazing (especially for the price, which is more than fair); the build is unbelievably lightweight (almost entirely plastic); and the autofocus is incredibly reliable so far (more on that below). Cons: While ultimately reliable, the autofocus is a little slow in low light conditions; the lens hood is an odd design that doesn't reliably mitigate flaring or haloing, so I will be buying a new hood for mine; as I understand it, there's no/limited weather proofing, so I don't feel very comfortable taking the lens out in inclement weather. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It's not perfect by any stretch, but I wouldn't expect it to be given the price. That said, the picture quality, comfort/convenience, and price all come together to make this the perfect 35mm for me. If you're on a budget and don't want a lens that weighs you down -- you really can't do any better than this.
Very soft at f/2.8, acceptable above f/4
I have read/watched many reviews that say this lens is super sharp at f/2.8. Not my experience. Images are very soft wide open, unfortunately. I guess you get what you pay for :) Overall I am quite bummed, my other Samyang lens is super impressive. This one... not so much.
lots of focus breathing but worth it at its price
lots of focus breathing, but it gets the job done. picture is a lot clearer at f4
Excelente Lente
Supera por mucho a otros lentes de la marca
A steal at the price, especially the sale price.
The copy I received from BH is centered, focuses quickly and noiselessly, shows little if any distortion, and is quite sharp. Does vignette a bit, but that's easily corrected. Too, it's light and unobtrusive; a very convenient walk about lens
compact and excellent images
The lens is great for travel because it's so compact. The autofocus is good and the image is excellent.
Surprisingly fast!
Very light and compact lens, if you need something practical for street photography and you do not want to spend that much money, this is a great option! Bonus, the autofocus on my Sony A 7iii works great!
Great for wide angle landscapes
This is a very good lens for landscape photography. I was looking for a wide angle lens that would keep the corners sharp as much as the center. This lens does that. It's also nice that it's small.
