Protect your lenses, photographic and optical equipment, mobile electronics, and other valuable accessories from excessive moisture, dirt, and dust with the Ruggard 180L Electronic Dry Cabinet. The cabinet's fast-acting TE Cooling Wafer regulates the interior's relative humidity from 35-60% to help prevent fungus and corrosion that can damage your gear. Humidity adjustments take place over a 1 to 3-hour period.

Fully-featured, the dual zone cabinet has a lockable, rubber-sealed glass door, with four keys, and a front plastic handle. A large, dimmable LCD displays ambient temperature (in Fahrenheit or Celsius), relative humidity, and other settings. Interior LED lights make viewing and finding gear easier, and both the base and the five adjustable plastic shelves are padded to help guard against scratches.

The Electronic Dry Cabinet is powered by an included multi-voltage power supply. In addition to being near-silent, without a fan or compressor to make noise, the unit is also dripless, eliminating the need for a water tray. To prevent unwanted movement, the bottom of the cabinet has four rubber feet and two are leveling feet for installing on uneven surfaces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a professional photographer This is my first dry cabinet. I have always been reluctant to buy one because of the price, but after considering the value of the gear that I would be putting in the cabinet I decided to give it a go. I love the build quality of the cabinet, the front doors are glass and the rest of the cabinet is metal with the exception of the shelves and those are plastic. I wish those were metal as well but the plastic seems to be sturdy enough. Each shelf has a foam pad for it so I don’t have to worry about scuffing my gear on bare metal/plastic shelf. I live in Florida where it is almost always hot and humid and even indoors the humidity will reach 65% in the summer. Currently indoor humidity is around 55%. Included in the box for the dry cabinet is a list of recommended humidity settings for different kinds of gear. Based on the provided list and some research online I decided to set my dry cabinet at 42% humidity. To get from 55% to 42% humidity it takes about 4 hours. Once it reaches 42% it shuts off (its hard to tell when it is running since it is completely silent) and it doesn’t turn back on until the humidity hits 44%. Something I found surprising is that the humidity setting can be adjusted in 1% increments. Something I didn’t think about when buying this cabinet is that it does have two doors and two separate climate zones (top and bottom). The nice thing about that is I can open one of the doors and not effect the humidity in the other compartment. That is very nice since opening a door almost immediately makes the humidity level rise to the same as the room that it is in. The other nice thing is if you are trying to store different kinds of items in the cabinet you can set the humidity of the two compartments separately from one another. I would recommend a dry cabinet to anyone that lives in a humid climate.
