The Large-Diaphragm Condenser Mic and Thunderbolt Audio Interface with Powered Plug-Ins Kit from B&H includes the AKG C214 large-diaphragm condenser microphone, a Universal Audio Apollo Twin MKII SOLO audio interface, and a 10’ Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series XLR mic cable. It is ideal for vocalists, voice-over artists, musicians, recording artists, and traveling engineers who need studio-level quality at home, in the studio, or on the road.

The AKG C214 microphone features a 1” capsule, cardioid polar pattern, wide frequency response, and high maximum SPL. It offers a 20 dB pad to prevent distortion when miking loud sources and a 160 Hz low-cut filter to reduce unwanted bass frequencies. Its double-mesh grille provides enhanced RF immunity without sacrificing sonic quality. The supplied shockmount and windscreen minimize unwanted noises such as rumble and plosives. Use the 24-gauge 10’ balanced XLR cable to connect the mic to the Universal Audio interface.

The Apollo Twin MKII SOLO delivers two mic preamps with Unison Technology, a dedicated Hi-Z input, and six outputs in a compact, durable aluminum box. The included UAD Analog Classics plug-in bundle is powered by the SOLO’s built-in DSP chip, so your computer’s CPU will be free for other important tasks. It supports up to 24-bit/192 kHz resolution via Thunderbolt and works with Mac OS X and Windows.

    The versatile C214 Large-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone from AKG is designed to record lead vocals, drums, acoustic instruments & guitar amplifiers, in the studio, on stage or in broadcasting situations. Conceived as a cost-effective alternative to the renowned C414 microphone, this microphone uses the same 1" capsule but in a single-diaphragm and cardioid-only configuration.

    The transducer features Edge-Terminated Back-Plate technology that allows the membrane to vibrate freely, resulting in a wide frequency range and detailed transients, even at high sound-pressure levels. With the additions of a switchable 20 dB pad and a low-cut filter, the C214 is well-suited for close-miking applications. The low-noise electronic circuitry provides high sensitivity and can handle SPL up to 156 dB, adding up to a dynamic range of 143 dB.

    The C214 is a rugged microphone built to withstand the severities of professional studios or the road. The integrated capsule suspension helps reduce mechanical noise and resonance for a cleaner sound. The die-cast metal body with shock- and scratch-resistant finish features a double-mesh grille which protects the capsule and ensures efficient rejection of RF interference without affecting acoustics. The C214 comes with a metal carrying case, a foam windscreen and a spider-type shockmount.

    The Apollo Twin MKII SOLO Desktop Interface with Realtime UAD Processing from Universal Audio is a Thunderbolt audio interface capable of capturing your audio in up to 24-bit/192 kHz with real-time, low-latency UAD plug-in processing.     The Kopul Studio Elite 4000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable (10') is a studio-quality cable for connecting mics to mixers, preamps, audio interfaces and recorders; or to be used in any other application where XLR connectivity is required.     Studio Elite 4000 Series cables are made from 24 AWG OFC copper wire that's wrapped with PE insulation and a conductive PVC inner shield.
