The Avid Artist DNxIQ offers a built-in hardware encoder to capture to Avid DNxHR, enabling you to edit 4K files easily and speed up your workflow. It also enables you to see exactly what media is being ingested or sent out of production through the built-in front-panel HD LCD. You can change your source or timecode input with the press of a button.
How does this connect to my Mac Pro 5,1 workstation? Does it use the same SAS style connector that my existing Nitris DX does?

You can connect the Avid Artist DNxIQ to your computer through a Thunderbolt connector or through a PCIe connector. Note: For customers that require Thunderbolt connectivity over longer distances than standard 2 meter copper Thunderbolt cables, Avid has tested and qualified 30 meter and 60 meter optical Thunderbolt cabling offered by Corning.
