This camera has an I/O screw terminal inside the camera. You will need a Line Level microphone that has separate power to connect the microphone to the camera.

Will this work with ir illuminator. If so would I use an 850nm or 940nm illuminator for best results?
Asked by: Jay
This camera has a built in mechanical IR filter. The filter is for 850 nm. You can use a separate IR illuminator to light up the area and the camera will "see" with it.

Will I be able to read license plates on the street with this camera, with 12 times Zoom
Asked by: Jay
Reading license plates will depend on if the camera is pointed head-on to the vehicle and will not be more than 20 degrees to the right or left of viewing the vehicle bumper. I would also recommend mounting the camera much closer to the subject and not taking a chance.

question

While in scan mode, does this camera stop when motion objects are detected, lock onto moving objects, or track?
Asked by: Edward S.
The camera has the following features: Face Detection, Tripwire, Intrusion, and Abandoned/missing objects. The camera does not have any Gatekeeping feature that would allow the camera to follow a person. I would also not recommend using this camera's PTZ features on a regular basis. Occasional usage is fine.
