The Vocal and Instrument Microphones Kit from B&H offers two versatile microphones designed to provide accurate reproduction of vocals and instruments for music production, dialogue, and more in recording facilities, project studios, and home setups. The kit is comprised of two Polsen microphones, the PCR-65 large-diaphragm condenser and the SDC-2150 small-diaphragm condenser.

The Polsen PCR-65 large-diaphragm cardioid condenser mic delivers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and a high maximum SPL. It is well-suited for vocals and instruments with an extended frequency range.

The Polsen SDC-2150 small-diaphragm cardioid condenser mic features a 50 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response and a maximum SPL of 125 dB. Use it to record transient-rich instruments such as acoustic guitar, piano, drums, and percussion.

The kit includes a shockmount, mic clip, and desktop tripod mic stand.

  • Polsen PCR-65 Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The PCR-65 from Polsen is a cardioid condenser microphone designed for full-range reproduction of vocals and instruments in podcasts, recording studios, and broadcast environments. Its side-address, pressure-gradient design utilizes a large 1" diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern, which minimizes the pickup of off-axis sounds and impedes feedback. The microphone boasts a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, allowing it to accurately transduce the frequencies of a variety of sounds. Its high sensitivity and 125 dB maximum SPL ensure that you can use it on quiet or loud sources, from whispered vocals to pounding drums.

The PCR-65 has a sturdy, metal housing with an alloy finish. The supplied custom shockmount decouples the mic from vibrations and rumble that would otherwise transfer from the floor to the mic. Use the desktop tripod stand for convenient tabletop placement during interviews and podcasts. Phantom power (12 to 52 VDC) is required.

    Cardioid Capsule
The 1" capsule's cardioid polar pattern is least sensitive to sound behind the microphone, allowing better rejection of room reflections, which is ideal for capturing vocals and close-miked instruments with greater clarity
    Full-Range Frequency Response
The 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response is sufficiently wide to deliver a warm, natural sound for a variety of sources, from the low drone of a double bass to the high shimmer of cymbals to the powerful presence of a vocal
    High Sensitivity and Maximum SPL
The microphone's high sensitivity allows it to be used on quiet sources such as a soft voice, without extreme gain, and its high maximum SPL of 125 dB ensures that it can handle loud sounds such as a drum, without distortion
    Sturdy and Durable
Metal construction with an alloy finish enables the mic to hold up to the demands of studio and stage environments
    Versatile
The supplied shockmount, which decreases pickup of rumble and vibrations, can be mounted on a standard mic stand or the included desktop tripod

  • Polsen SDC-2150 Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone

The SDC-2150 from Polsen is a small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone for capturing high-quality audio. It features an accurate and fast response to transient levels and can be used in several applications for recording acoustic instruments such as close-miking pianos, kick drums, cymbals, snares, and more. In addition, it can be used as a drum-overhead mic.

Featuring a tailored frequency response, with slightly accentuated mid-highs, this microphone captures sound naturally and can handle high sound-pressure level (SPL) with no distortion. The solid-metal construction provides durability and will withstand use in the most demanding environments.

The SDC-2150 Small-Diaphragm Condenser Microphone is versatile and includes a mic clip with a 5/8" threaded socket and a 3/8" adapter, which makes it suitable for mounting on a mic stand or a boompole.

    Cardioid Polar Pattern
The cardioid polar pattern is ideal for recording acoustic instruments and is less susceptible to pick up reflections, which make it suitable for recording speeches or dialog in the studio or on the set
    Tailored Frequency Response for Instruments
With slightly accentuated mid-high frequencies, the microphone will capture acoustic instruments with better accuracy and detail
    High SPL Levels
The microphone can handle extremely high SPL levels without distortion and can be placed as close to a snare, kick, or cymbal as you want
    Sturdy and Durable
Built with solid-metal construction, the mic can withstand use in the most demanding environments
    Versatile
A mic clip with a 5/8" threaded socket and a 3/8" adapter are included for both mic stand and boompole mounting
