Sorry, I have never heard of a DL, (double layer), DVD. I do not know what one is. All I can tell you is that I bought this DP132H Multi Region DVD player several months ago. I tried DVD's with many different region codes and different encoding standards, (NTSC and PAL). All DVD's I tried, work good in this DVD player.
