Acebil ST-7R Reviews
Potential
This had the potential to be a great tool but is let done by not enough thought in the design as it doesn't sit on the shoulder like it should. It is quite heavy and it is terribly unbalanced when attaching it to a tripod. The base plate has to sit at it's forward most point. The only positive thing I can say is, it is slightly better than it is without it
HUGE
This thing is huge and very cumbersome!
Decent build quality, hardware could be improved
Decent build quality, but the hardware are really subpar for something at this price point. A VCT-14 plate is a must to properly mount this on a tripod. Way over priced. but really helps with shoulder mounting the rig.
Great way to shoulder mount a DVX200
Very well-built and sturdy. Convenient BNC pass-throughs and lots of power tap options. I bought the cable to connect power from the V-Mount battery to the DVX200. Integrated V-Mount and power circuitry is a great feature and the battery does supply some counter-weight. I noticed another review mentioned that it is "HUGE." Logically, it must be (and is) a length that allows for the shoulder pad to be at the right distance from the camera to make viewing the LCD or viewfinder possible. Camera mounts to rig at both bottom and at top handle for a very secure, stable connection. 5 stars could be earned if it just had a way to add front grip handles/arms.
