The Omega HyperDrive Duo USB-C Hub converts the Thunderbolt 3 ports on a 13" or 15" MacBook Pro (2016/2017) into additional connections. The HyperDrive features a slim, silver design to match and directly attach to the side of your MacBook Pro. When connected to the MacBook Pro's two Thunderbolt 3 ports, the hub provides two USB 3.1 Type-A ports along with a USB Type-C port to access printers, external drives, and other USB-outfitted peripherals. For transferring content from digital cameras, microSD and SD card slots are available. There's also an HDMI port, so you can directly connect a TV or monitor without requiring an adapter. Another notable port on the hub is a pass-through Thunderbolt 3 port, so you can daisy chain multiple Thunderbolt 3 devices, such as 5K displays, external GPU enclosures, and more. In addition, this port has a power delivery of up to 100W for recharging the MacBook Pro's battery.

50 Gb/s hub is specifically designed for a 13" or 15" MacBook Pro built in 2016 or 2017
Turns the two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the MacBook Pro into 7 interfaces, which include HDMI, Thunderbolt 3, USB Type-C, SD, and microSD along with two USB Type-A
Connects to a 4K HDMI display without requiring an adapter
Thunderbolt 3 port supports resolutions of up to 5K at 60 Hz, transfer rates of up to 40 Gb/s, and power delivery rates of up to 100W

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful But Not Perfect Everyone thinks it's the coolest thing when I take it out of my bag to connect to my 2017 13 MacBook Pro. I love the versatility it brings... although I wish it had a Thunderbolt 2 option on it. The real problem for me... The hub doesn't fit as tight as I would like. I need to be very careful when I am transferring footage between my external hard drive and my laptop. When the laptop is stable on a desk, it works perfectly fine, but If I have the laptop on my lap, it is prone to slip out a little bit and lose connection. It hasn't been a dealbreaker for me, but I may eventually replace it with something more stable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from EP III: Return of the Ports Love this little hub for the newer version USB-C MacBooks. Not only was it able to give me back all the ports that disappeared, but it gave me more than what I had before. It was a nice surprise that this hub came with a little faux leather carrying pouch. The Hub USB connections are a little firm, which sometimes leads to disconnecting the whole hub from the computer. This isn't a large issue, as I assume that with wear and use, it will be easier to connect and disconnect exterior devices. In all, nifty little product that I can use on either side of the comptuer, with a nice case for transportation.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from does not work on the left side of the macbook pro The hyper drive thunderbolt usb-c for macbook pro won't work on the left side of the macbook pro 15 touch bar. This wouldn't be so disturbing if placed on the right side it did not block the access to the audio output. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from interference with network and cannot use with more than 3 When you have a HDMI display (not 4K) and 2 devices plugge (like a USB external Drive and a USB Mouse), it starts to cause interference with the computer wi-fi. Network becames unstable and begins to drop. Here's the Hyper Support answer: It is my understanding from one of my colleagues that having video and 2 hard drives connected, transferring data at the same time, may and likely will overload the hub and cause issues over time. Also: unplugs very, very easily. A slight movement and your transfer is gone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great concept, good enough execution With the need for adapters until prosumer markets catch up to USB-C and Thunderbolt 3, the docking solutions like the HyperDrive are helpful to the point of necessity. This device allows high-speed ports on par with the older MacBook Pro and works as advertised with a simple connection to either side of the computer. Though it takes up two ports of the four available (for a 15" build), the connection speed is quick. Regrettably, connections are not perfectly stable, and I've had occasional "drive disconnected" warnings and failures to mount SD cards. While it has overall met my needs, I've been a little disappointed in the reliability of the connections for the price point. Build quality is good and the physical connection seems strong, so I suspect things could improve with future software updates.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does it's job This hyperdrive does exactly what it's suppose to do! It took me a few times before I realized I wasn't pushing it in all the way (the fit seemed a bit tight) but now that it's been plugged in several times it doesn't take as much effort. It's a bit of a bummer that I need a hyperdrive for my MacBook Pro at all because it's just one more thing to remember and adds to the surface area it takes up, but that's a Mac issue, not an issue with this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but a little wiggly I like the connectivity this provides, though I've yet to test the HDMI and likely won't use the SD card option, so can't comment on those. The one down side is that it's a little wiggly and I'm concerned it will cause excessive wear on the computer ports.I'm just being cautious for now. I've also had a few times where it seemed to be in place but required a second, firmer push to get it fully seated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from always disconnects Anytime you bump you mac it disconnects. I have to put something under it to make a good connection. Sorry I threw away the box or I would be returning it. Garbage
