Characterized by its autofocus operation, the AF 50mm f/1.4 FE Lens from Samyang is a fast normal-length prime for Sony E mirrorless cameras. Its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture is well suited to controlling depth of field for selective focus imagery, and also suits working in low-light conditions. The optical design incorporates three aspherical elements to minimize spherical aberrations for cleaner, clearer image quality and an Ultra Multi-Coating has also been applied to limit flare and ghosting when working in strong lighting conditions. The lens' autofocus motor works in conjunction with Sony cameras' AF systems for quick and precise focusing performance, and manual focus override is also available for more refined control. Quality is ok but it clicks and grinds when using with FX3
I can't really complain about the quality but it sure sounds bad when it's attached to my FX3. Oddly enough, none of my other Prime Samyang lenses do this and it's only on the FX3. On the A7iv, it does not make the noise. Thankfully, it still works fine but waiting for the day where it no longer works.
50mm
Wanted a new lens went with this samyang 50mm and I love it! If your on a budget and don't want to pull the trigger on an expensive brand this is your best pick! Plus the shipping was super fast

Stop the lens to 5,6 and the shot is excellent

This lens is fantastic. I love the image quality and the quick autofocus. It's not perfect, but it provides superb value and utility in a reasonable size. The AF motor makes noise, so buy it for stills, not video. Hopefully Samyang will make a new version with quiet autofocus. Note that I received the lens with outdated firmware. Plan to buy the Samyang Lens Station to update to the current firmware, which addresses some autofocus issue.
