Ready for AMD Ryzen, 7th Generation A-Series, and Athlon processors, the Republic of Gamers Crosshair VI Extreme AM4 Extended ATX Motherboard from ASUS provides gamers with ROG's Water-Cooling Zone, Aura Sync RGB LEDs, the SupremeFX S1220 audio codec, 5-Way Optimization with Auto Tuning and FanXpert 4, Intel Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C, dual NVME M.2 slots, dual SafeSlots, and more. This motherboard is designed to fit in Extended ATX (EATX) sized cases, supports the AM4 socket and the AMD X370 chipset, and is compatible with Windows 10 (64-bit). It is also ready for VR (virtual reality).

The EATX form factor of the Crosshair VI Extreme has four dual-channel DIMM slots that can support up to 64GB of RAM, or 16GB per slot. Ryzen processors support memory speeds of 3200 (OC), 2666, 2400, and 2133 MHz ECC and non-ECC unbuffered memory, while A-Series and Athlon processors support speeds of 2400 and 2133 MHz non-ECC unbuffered memory. It also has a total of 8 x SATA III 6 Gb/s ports that support RAID 0, 1, and 10, plus M.2 Socket 3. While all compatible processors support one Type 2242, 2260, and 2280 SSD via SATA or PCIe 3.0 x4, Ryzen processors support a second Type 2242, 2260, 2280, or 22110 PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD.

There are a total of one 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Type-C port, one 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Type-A port, one 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 front panel connector, ten 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 ports (six at the back panel, four at mid-board), and six 480 Mb/s USB 2.0 ports (four at the back panel, one at mid-board). For those looking to expand their system using PCIe, all compatible processors support one PCIe 2.0 x16 slot (max at x4) and three PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. AMD A-Series and Athlon processors also support one PCIe 3.0/2.0 slot (x8 mode), while Ryzen processors support two PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 slots (x16 or dual x8).

The Crosshair VI Hero does not contain any support for integrated graphics, meaning that users will need to purchase a compatible dedicated GPU of their choice. Once that GPU is installed, multi-GPU output is supported, with NVIDIA 2-Way SLI technology and AMD 3-Way CrossFireX technology.

Using the ROG SupremeFX 8-Channel HD S1220 audio codec, the Crosshair VI Extreme can support 120 dB SNR stereo playback output and 113 dB SNR input. Audio can also be output using the integrated five audio jacks or one optical S/PDIF jack. ASUS' Republic of Gamers Crosshair VI Extreme AM4 Extended ATX Motherboard is equipped with features such as, Sonic Studio III, Sonic Radar III, Pro Clock technology, UEFI BIOS, SafeSlot, ESD guards, and more. PCH M.2 Heatsink
The ROG Crosshair VI Extreme is equipped with an M.2 heatsink integrated into the PCH heatsink. With its large cooling surface, the M.2 heatsink chills an inserted M.2 SSD, providing improved performance and reliability. Featuring an angular design replete with a glowing ROG eye logo, the M.2 heatsink adds a unique touch to the build, while the T-sensor detects temperatures in the vital M.2 area for instant monitoring.
Water Cooling Zone
ROG's Water Cooling Zone lets you monitor your cooling system in a different way. The dual water temperature headers and flow-rate header of the ROG Water Cooling Zone feeds information straight into ROG's Fan Xpert 4 utility, so you can stay on top of the heat and stay cool. A tachometer allows for constant monitoring of the flow rate for the entire loop, while an input/output sensor allows for the monitoring of temperatures at the input/output of components.
AM4 & AM3 Cooler Compatibility
The ROG Crosshair VI Extreme has special mounting holes that are compatible with most AM4 or AM3 cooler/LN2 pot. Upgrade to a new AM4 cooler, or extend the life of your existing AM3 kit - the choice is yours.
