LensCoat LCLSPJM5 Overview

  • 1Description

The LensSack Pro Jr Beanbag Support from LensCoat provides a stable base for lenses up to 500mm. It has a removable mounting plate with a 3/8"-16 thread so that you can attach a gimbal or other tripod head to the beanbag. Made from water-resistant Cordura, the LensSack Pro Jr features MOLLE webbing, two storage pockets, and two adjustable straps allow for easy carrying.

The bag is flat on the side where the mounting plate can be attached, and is U-shaped on the other side with a non-slip coating inside. The beanbag ships empty and can be filled with your choice of filler such as environmentally-friendly sunflower seeds or buckwheat hulls. Two locking YKK zippers make filling and emptying the bag an easy task, and reinforced seams keep your fill from spilling. The LensSack Pro Jr is made in the USA.

    LensCoat LCLSPJM5 Reviews

LensSack Pro Jr Beanbag Support (Pro Realtree Max5) is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice bag, but what to fill with ? Nice bag but a note on fillers. I did some research and decided to go with Buckwheat Hulls, it took almost 2lbs and I got them pretty cheap from *. Unfortunately in my opinion they are WAY TOO LIGHT to really keep the bag solid enough to not wiggle when you have a tripod head mounted on it. They might be fine for non tripod head use. Not sure what I'll try next, the manufacturer says he uses 5lbs of sunflower seeds in his. Probably good in case too want a snack while shooting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. This LensSack Pro Jr Beanbag Support(Digital Camo) is an excellent choice when photographing from a pickup truck. The window openings are wide and high enough when you are photographing with larger long lens on the camera or using a scoped riffle. This beanbag doesn't work as well in smaller trucks or cars because the window openings are not high enough. This bean bag would work well if shooting from a stationary blind. Build quality and design are very good. I have found that sunflower seeds are cheaper and lighter than most other fill materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted Going to Africa in 3 months. A lot of time on safari, so I hear, you can't get out of the jeep for safety reasons. So I felt a bean bag would be better than some sort of window clamp or tripod in the vehicle. My travel tripod head mounted easily. I filled it with 3-4 lbs. of sunflower seeds all in small baggies. So it's not too heavy and is very stable. I suppose if I was using a $10,000 600mm canon that weighed over 10 lbs. I'd go with the larger LensSack. but for me this is perfect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact Yet Capable I bought the LensSack Pro Jr to use in conjunction with my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary. It was smaller than I had anticipated but am happy to report that it holds up just fine with D800 plus a Beike BK-45 gimbal. The LensSack comes with a metal plate that inserts into the top of the sleeve. A plastic washer/bush is placed on top of the fabric to protect it against whatever tripod head you decide to attach. I opted to fill the LensSack with basmati rice. While this does make it significantly heavier than filling with the recommended sunflower seeds, I find the smaller size of the rice grains gives a more solid product and sturdier as a result. It has a multitude of uses, from car windows, walls, fallen or low hanging branches or even on the ground. For low angle work, it's great and I love the freedom it gives you, especially if in a confined space. While I like my tripod, I'm forever tripping over the legs when you have little room to move. Provided you achieve the required height for your shot and can adjust your angles via a gimbal, the LensSack is fantastic. The carry handles make transportation easy and the construction and materials of the product are high. My only negative point is that there aren't double zippers, which I was a little disappointed about. Even my cheap studio sandbags are double zippered to ensure the contents don't leak. A minor point but, I worry about catching the zipper tag on something as I move location and it pulls open, spilling my basmati rice contents all over the ground and potentially ruining a days shoot. Other than that, I can't fault it. The LensSack is very versatile, portable and performs very well, considering the amount of weight it supports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect beanbag!!! Excellent!!! I use this on my truck window with my Nikon D500 & Nikon 200-500 f4 and Nikon 70-200 f4 lenses. It works great. I used deer corn to fill the bag. I put the corn in quart sized zip lock bags and stuffed them into the bag. Works perfect - no mess. Got this idea from a target shooting forum and do this with my shooting rest weights (I use sand for weight). Highly recommend...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very sturdy on the car door this replaced another brand that was too small - this was just right - well made- like the snap straps they work as a safety strap so I don't loose it as we drive down the road - hook it to the inside door handle - I used buck wheat husk and packed a couple of small bags of rice to make the sides a little heavier -

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this product! I filled this beanbag with 8 pounds of pinto beans and it is ready to go. Using it with my long lenses is great. Super support in the car window or when lying on the ground. Could not be better constructed. As always, B&H is great!
