The Flex TT5 does not work.. when I bought 5 of these back in the day it was promised that you could do upgrades to the hardware to accept new cameras... guess what? it doesnt any longer, I contacted the company to see if they could honor their promise by at least taking the old ones as a small credit towards new ones and they said no way... not a big fan of their products

I pair these FlexTT5s with a Nikon D850 and an off-camera Nikon Speedlight. Couldn't be simpler to use, and so far it's been very reliable. I'm not sure why they don't see these in a 2-pack since you need two to make it work.

Would Not Communicate

Received PW TT5 to marry with PW Plus X, as advised by B&H lighting sales rep but TT5 arrived with no instructions, no warranty card, and a USB cord with no connection aperture that would accept the cord. Emailed Pocket Wizard consumer support for clarification and was told the model I should have had recommended was the PW plus IV which has apparently been discontinued and replaced by the PW Plus IVe. As of now I am awaiting a return authorization to exchange TT5 for the Plus IVe.

5 years still doesn't work

I thought when I first bought these that there was a learning curve, or that different batteries would help. But they just don't ever work. I thought this was a good company and the flextt5 and minit1 are my only experiences with them. Every single job I've ever brought these to has had issues. Fully recharged batteries or brand new alkalines doesn't make a difference. Now one of them stopped working entirely. I can count the times I've used successfully them on two hands. Most gigs I bring them to I end up using an optical slave because they won't work.

I have been using Pocketwizards for close to eight years and needed to pick up a new one. It is nice when something works a company is not always trying to come up with a new version that is not compatible with the older ones you already have. Thank you Pocketwizard for making a great remote lighting trigger.

FlexTT5 Pocket Wizard F/Nikon DSLR Will Not Work With Godox

By Richard

1st, the Pocket Wizard works very well and does everything that it is supposed to do. It's a great unit! 2nd, I was told by sales that the Pocket Wizard would trigger a Godox Flash. After spending 3 very hours trying to make the two units work together I called user support at B&H the next morning. After speaking with the consultant, who in-turn spoke with another consultant, they determined that the two systems would not work together. I returned the Godox flash.

question

Will the AC3 trigger a PlusX connected to a strobe?
Asked by: kevin
With this kit, the AC3 is used to adjust power to remote flashes connected to FlexTT5s. The transmitting radio can trigger a PlusX connected to a strobe as well as the remote FlexTT5s. You cannot use the AC3 to turn the a PlusX's flash on or off, as the PlusX does not have Zones, it will always fire.

How do I order the CE version instead of the FCC version since I am from India?
Asked by: Sunil
Dealers in the United States can only sell FCC radios and ship them to North and South America, due to FCC and CE regulations. For CE radios, you can check with a distributor near you or contact PocketWizard directly for help.

Can I trigger alien bees and Nikon speedlights ...

Can I trigger alien bees and Nikon speedlights with these?
Asked by: Katherine
As noted, if you add an AC9 AlienBees adapter to the receiving FlexTT5, you will be able to adjust power to the AlienBee. You can also use the FlexTT5 connected to the AlienBee's sync port with an MM1 cable. You will need to adjust power to the flash manually. If you have remote Nikon speedlights, you can still use those in TTL but remember your TTL exposure will not include the light from the AlienBees so you will need to adjust accordingly. The AlienBees do not have TTL capability.

is the flextt5 able to be fired from a synch ...

is the flextt5 able to be fired from a synch cable? I want to use it with my vintage hasselblad and my sb800's
Asked by: Bruce
The sync port on the FlexTT5 is only for output to a flash or remote camera. To use it with a transmitter without using the hot shoe, you'll need to use a hot shoe adapter, like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/767442-REG/Vello_HSA_PSU_Universal_Hot_Shoe_Adapter.html and a PC cable to connect it to the Hasselblad, either the lens or the body. You will probably want to set the radios to Basic Trigger mode. Contact [email protected] for more details about the setup if needed.

question

I am planning to get two FlexTT5's; one for my D7100 & other for my SB-910. Pls guide whether I need to purchase any other cable/cords apart from the two FlexTT5's.
Asked by: Anonymous
Nothing else would be needed; all items necessary to use your setup together would be included with the PocketWizard FlexTT5 Transceiver Remotes. The FlexTT5 would connect to the top of the hot shoe on the Nikon D7100 DSLR camera, and would connect to the hot shoe on the bottom of the Nikon SB-910 Speedlight Flash. The batteries needed to operate the FlexTT5 are included with the units.

How do you trigger the camera/flash remotely with the Flex TT5? can it be done wirelessly or is a cable required?
Asked by: Tyrone
You need two Flex TT5. One is one your camera and gives the trigger. Flash: you insert the flash on the socket of the second TT5. Camera Remote: you need a cable that connect the secong TT5 with the camera. Usually Nikon needs a 10-Pin cable that will trigger the camera, but this depends on your model.
