Levenhuk 8x42 Karma PLUS Binoculars
Key Features
  • BAK4 Roof Prisms
  • Multi-Coated Prisms and Optics
  • 3-Element/3-Group Eyepiece Lenses
  • Nitrogen-Filled, Water and Fogproof
Designed for power and performance the Levenhuk 8x42 Karma PLUS Binoculars are engineered with BAK4 roof prisms, a 3-element / 3-group eyepiece lens configuration, and anti-reflection multi-coated optics, which work together to help boost their light-gathering abilities and push the limits of their use as the light fades. These design features present an immersive observation experience by producing bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color fidelity and limited distortion across their field of view; and the ability to pick out distinct details at long-range. The larger objectives gather more light than compact models, while an exceptionally long eye relief and wide exit pupil make viewing through the eyepieces comfortable for long periods of time, even in low light such as at dawn or dusk.

Complementing the optical performance is a chassis that is wrapped in a slip-resistant rubber armor with raised textured palm-pads to add grip security and stability in cold or wet weather - even when wearing gloves. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to make them waterproof and resistant to fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes. Finally, their large center focusing wheel, ±4 dioptric correction, and twist-up eyecups enable precise focusing and eye relief for just about any user.

Optical Performance

  • Moderate 8x magnification
  • Midsized 42mm objective lenses boost light-gathering ability versus compact models
  • Compact roof prism light path
  • BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil, and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Anti-reflection multi-coated optics produce neutral and accurate color fidelity across the entire visible spectrum, and improve contrast and image brightness
  • Highly-reflective silver prism coatings reduce internal light loss to help maintain image brightness and improve contrast
  • 3-element / 3-group eyepiece lens configuration improves image quality by reducing lens-edge distortion
  • 354-foot field of view at 1000 yards

Use and Handling

  • Closed-bridge configuration
  • Large textured center focusing wheel is easy to manipulate even when wearing gloves
  • 56-74mm interpupillary distance adjustment range
  • ±4 right-eye dioptric correction
  • Twist-up rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Long 17.8mm eye relief makes long-duration glassing sessions comfortable
  • Wide 5.25mm exit pupil will completely cover most pupils when fully-dilated in low light for clear views without vignetting

Construction Details

  • Nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes
  • Slip-resistant rubber armoring provides a slip-resistant grip
  • Raised textured palm-pads improve grip security
  • Tripod-mountable with optional adapter to reduce arm fatigue or reduce vibrations
  • Tethered one-piece eyepiece rainguard and stay-on/flip-down objective lens caps are easy to put on and take of without the risk of losing them
  • Broad 5 to 140°F (-15 to 60°C) operating temperature range
