With a power and objective combination favored by birders, hunters, and outdoor enthusiasts alike, the Levenhuk 8x42 Karma PRO Binoculars are engineered with aluminum- and silver-coated BAK4 roof prisms, a 4-element/3-group eyepiece lens configuration, and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics, which work together to present an immersive observation experience by producing bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color fidelity and limited distortion across the binoculars' field of view that approaches wide-angle; and the ability to pick out distinct details at long-range.

The larger objectives gather copious amounts of light, so the optic can be used in challenging conditions such as at dawn or dusk, or when looking into heavily canopied forests and underbrush. Utilizing a relatively low power, combined with the larger objectives, translates to a wide exit pupil that ensures complete coverage when pupils dilate in low-light for a complete view of the scene without vignetting. In addition to the wide exit pupil, the Karma PRO's long eye relief makes long-duration observation sessions easy and comfortable.

Complementing the optical performance is a chassis that is wrapped in a protective textured rubber armor that provides a secure and stable grip, especially in cold or wet weather or when wearing gloves. The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to make them waterproof and resistant to fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes. The binoculars' large center focusing wheel, ±3 dioptric correction, and twist-up eyecups enable precise focusing and eye relief for just about any user.

Optical Performance

  • 8x magnification
  • 42mm objective lenses
  • BAK4 roof prisms
  • Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics produce neutral and accurate color fidelity across the entire visible spectrum, and improves contrast and image brightness
  • Highly-reflective silver and aluminum prism coatings reduce internal light diffraction to maintain image brightness and improve contrast
  • 4-element / 3-group eyepiece lens configuration improves image quality by reducing lens-edge distortion
  • 59° apparent angle of view approaches wide angle
  • 388-foot field of view at 1000 yards

Use and Handling

  • Closed-bridge configuration
  • Large textured center focusing wheel is easy to manipulate even when wearing gloves
  • 56-74mm interpupillary distance adjustment range
  • ±3 right-eye dioptric correction
  • Twist-up rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Tripod mountable with optional adapter
  • Long 17.5mm eye relief allows for comfortable long-duration observation
  • Wide 5.25mm exit pupil ensures complete coverage when pupils are fully dilated in low-light conditions

Construction Details

  • Combination of plastic and steel chassis construction ensures a strong frame without being too heavy
  • Nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof to a depth of 3.3' (1m) for up to 30 minutes, and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes
  • Textured slip-resistant rubber armoring provides a stable and secure grip in all weather conditions
  • Broad 5 to 140°F (-15 to 60°C) operating temperature range
  • Lightweight: 39 ounces
