Photoflex LiteDome Medium Overview

The Medium LiteDome (24 x 32 x 17") consistently delivers even, natural light from your strobe unit. Its internal diffusion baffle eliminates extreme highlights and hotspots. The internal baffle and diffusion face are each easily removed, allowing you to go from soft, diffused lighting to high-contrast without changing your setup.

The patented Quick Release Corners (QRC) make setup and teardown a snap. LiteDome softboxes are compatible with optional grids, giving you great control over light direction. Loop hooks are sewn into the outside of the dome to allow for hanging the softbox from above using a block and tackle.

    Perfect for my needs

    I use a 150 watt LED light in this box, and it makes a great combo. It diffuses and evens out the light nicely, without knocking down the intensity very much. The rectangular shape gives a nice reflection in shiny subjects in my still-lifes.

    This is my 4th Photoflex Product in over 15 years, and my 2nd Medium Size LiteDome. My first one was made in Korea and feels a step more high end - and i use it since 2005. My new one LiteDome makes nice Light, is easy an fast (under 1 minute) to assemble and disassemble - and feels much better than the cheap once and also much better than my broken Elinchroms. I would buy it again although shipping to germany is not as fast as usual, but it's worth it!

    Needed a lite and portable in the field soft-box to use with some speed lights for a commercial job, where big lights were not an option. It worked really well. Definitely worth buying.

    I needed a new medium softbox. The white interior is the way to go. Photoflex has always been a good reliable brand.

    I've used this particular soft box in the past and really loved the even light it produces. Great quality and easy to set up. Unfortunately I heard the company has now started to go under due to the owners passing so I quickly had to purchase another one of these before they run out. Great product and even better saving compared to other light diffusion that costs 3-4 times the price. I would definitely recommend to others

    I've had the same Photoflex softbox for 18 years. The interior is starting to disintegrate . I hope this one last as long.

    I bought this to replace one I bought in 1994 that took me 26 years to wear out. They have reinforced the corners since; an improvement. I really like the diffusion panel inside and have removed the outer panel at times if I needed a crisper, brighter light. I like that the outer panel does not go all the way to the edge, giving me a lip to which I can clip gels. There are more expensive boxes, but this is a workhorse that will get the job done.

    Will a 250W Tungsten modeling light be too hot?

    Technically that soft box is for strobe/flash only. You can use a strobe with a modeling light but I would not leave it on for long periods of time with one that is 250 watts. Or if your strobe allows you to dim the modeling lamp you should do that. For safety you need to keep an eye out that it does not get too hot.

    I'm not familiar with a Lowell pro light, I use a photogenic power light. But if there's a soft box mounting ring for a Lowell light then it should fit.

    The Photoflex Medium LiteDome is designed for use with strobe or speed-light.
