RCF ART-710A-MK4 overview

  • 1Description

Part of the Art 7 Series MK4 line of speakers, the RCF ART 710-A MK4 is a lightweight (at 31.75 lb) and portable active speaker designed to deliver full-range sound with accurate high-frequencies, and controlled deep bass. It is well suited for live sound reinforcement or distributed sound systems in clubs, corporate spaces, houses of worship, or for mobile DJ setups.

The ART 710-A MK4 is equipped with a 1400W peak, Class-D digital amplifier, which drives 1000W into the 10" woofer and 400W into the 1", mylar-dome compression driver. The speaker delivers a frequency response of 50 Hz to 20 kHz with a peak SPL output of 129 dB, and wide, 90°H x 70°V coverage angles. The integrated DSP manages the loudspeaker processing, including crossover and EQ, soft limiter, and dynamic bass boost. Phase and amplitude are corrected using proprietary FiRPHASE technology conceived for delivering a natural and transparent sound with a balanced stereo image.

Easy to operate, the ART 710-A MK4 comes with XLR and 1/4" balanced/unbalanced inputs for connecting a microphone, mixer, or audio device, and with a volume knob to set the level. Furthermore, the switchable Flat/Boost mode enables you to emphasizes the bass response when playing at low volume, or keep it flat for all other applications.

The cabinet is molded with rugged polypropylene composite material (PP), and designed to dampen vibrations, even at maximum volume settings. It features a top handle, which allows you to firmly hold the speaker, and move it easily. The ART 710-A MK4 can be mounted on a stand or a subwoofer pole, or positioned on its side to serve as a wedge monitor.

    RCF ART-710A-MK4 reviews

    ART 710-A MK4 - 10" 2-Way 1400W Active Speaker is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant I replaced a pair of Alto PS 4HA with a pair of these. A tanky 360W 12"+1" 2 way speaker that was great value back in 2006. You get what you pay for in speaker land. I shopped around and looked at my needs very closely. This is a compact no bells and whistles package that packs a deep and mighty punch and doesn't rely on a fan (convection cooled.) These speakers have a very wide flat frequency response. The bottom end response extends down a fair bit lower than my last system (despite being a 10" compared to 12") and the highs go higher. The last system now sounds like it's being run through a high and low cut filter compared to these. It's so much nicer on the ears over longer periods and you can feel the difference when pumping dance music through it. No complaints. And these things get loud. I've had them up louder than I would need in 95% of scenarios and the sound quality refuses to drop off. It's unbelievable how far speaker design has come in the last 10 years. I miss having handles on the sides but because it's so light, I haven't found lifting them on to stands to be an issue whatsoever. And it'd probably compromise the sound due to taking out volume of the cabinet. Couldn't recommend this speaker highly enough. Built like a tank yet weighs considerably less.
