ASUS Republic of Gamers Strix GL503VD

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series Graphics Cards
NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards can deliver up to a 40% increase in performance over the previous generation. Not only are they powerful, they can deliver similar performance to their desktop counterparts with a slight performance difference. This changes mobile gaming, allowing you to max out your game's visuals settings so you can enjoy it at its best.
DDR4 memory runs at higher speeds to deliver faster performance compared to its predecessor DDR3. With it, your system will achieve better performance overall.
RGB Aura Keyboard
The Strix GL503VD is equipped with customizable RGB lighting so you can adjust it as you see fit.
ROG Gaming Center
ROG Gaming Center gives you access to multiple features such as system information, macros, audio settings, and more.

Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Laptop, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    ASUS GL503VD-DB71 reviews

15.6" Republic of Gamers Strix GL503VD Gaming Notebook is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from ASUS IS FAILING Received this BRAND NEW- sub-par defective, poorly manufactured, no quality control computer. The screen had debris on the sides in between the lcd and frame bezel. The screen back cover where the logo is has manufacturing defects, blotches anomalies, and you have to see the pictures. SO I am waiting about a month to receive the exchange from BH because of holidays and restricted CS. I got it on the Sept 28 Sent it back 9-31-17 RMA and today is Oct 3. Also contacted ASUS. This is unacceptable for a new computer. ASUS u failed. Ill be watching you and if there are any more issues you'll be sure to know and it wont be an isolated incident.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Laptop I'm sorry these other people got a bad laptop, I bought this because my one-year-old HP laptop crashed twice and as a photographer, I need to trust my computers. I started with a gaming Dell which cost me 8 hours of my life before returning it and getting this Asus. A week later I am enjoying this computer as it is fast, very responsive with great graphics. I have never had a computer that starts as quickly as this one. My only advice is to go into settings and make certain that music and photos/videos go into the D drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Gaming Laptop I purchased this gaming laptop through the mail. It arrived on time and I was quite happy to get it up and quickly running. The I7 processor and the embedded GForce graphics made it quite pleasurable to run all my games on ultra high. The display was magnificent and all my games ran in high definition. I am quite pleased with this purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This laptop is trash I bought this laptop last march and it was okay on it's first few weeks. But after 3-4 weeks, it started lagging and slowing down. It's freezing sometimes when i'm playing dota and sometimes there will be a screen blackout but you can still hear the music. Sometimes i would need to hold the power button just to shut down the laptop. I'm not happy with my purchase

Rated 1 out of 5 by from product broke immediately; terrible customer service The notebook is *okay*... nothing special.   However, the 1 star is because it broke (short circuited motherboard) within 5 months.  I found their customer service to pretty bad.  If theyre going to sell products that break, they will need to improve their customer service :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So awesome I bought this laptop to be able to use adobe cc and at first the only problem I had was the speed. The mouse seemed to not work but that wasn’t the manufacturer’s fault. It was Microsoft. They decided to update all the apps I didn’t need in the background. Photoshop was trying to use the integrated graphics and that booted slow until I changed it to the gtx1050 and it booted up faster than the iMac I use at school. Put the laptop in a place where airflow at the time is a little constricted and there’s a feature to push the fans and it’s not that loud and the cpu is staying cool. The air coming out of the exhaust is cool. The screen looks awesome and I can choose what apps use the gtx or not. I saw the picture where the person had debris on it and I was afraid my laptop was coming like that but it was actually in perfect condition. This laptop is more than a regular one you would get in a store is more of a customizable laptop where if you’re really tech savvy, unlike me, you can really enjoy the experience of having this around.
