Gigabyte Radeon RX VEGA 64 overview

Based on AMD's Vega architecture and featuring high-bandwidth HBM2 memory, the Gigabyte Radeon RX Vega 64 Watercooling 8G Graphics Card allows you to have the full virtual reality experience.

Not only for gaming, the Radeon RX Vega 64 supports APIs such as OpenCL and OpenGL. These APIs can take advantage of the GPU's 4096 Stream Processors to accelerate parallel computing tasks, taking some of the processing load off of the CPU. The Vega 64 also features a 2048-bit memory interface and a 484 GB/s memory bandwidth.

The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs. There are three DisplayPort 1.4 outputs and a single HDMI 2.0b output. With 8GB of HBM2 VRAM, the Vega 64 card can support a resolution of 7680 x 4320. Combined with AMD's Eyefinity, the GPU can provide an immersive gaming experience using up to four monitors. AMD FreeSync 2 technology allows the Vega 64 GPU and your monitor to dynamically change frame rates to reduce screen tearing.

To keep this powerful card cool, Gigabyte implemented a closed-loop liquid cooler. This type of cooler works more efficiently than a traditional blower-style cooler, as heat from the GPU is absorbed by a contact plate and circulated from the block, via the pre-installed water tubing, up to a separate radiator unit for dissipation away from the board itself. This design keeps the card quiet even under intense compute or game sequences. The shroud on the card itself is no larger than the blower-style iteration, allowing for similar installation scenarios, provided there is sufficient space to mount the radiator.

HBM2 Memory
HBM2 (High-Bandwidth Memory 2) is a type of VRAM that can be vertically stacked, allowing for increased memory in a smaller form factor. HBM2 also has a wide bus to allow for higher bandwidth at a lower clock speed while using less power.

FreeSync 2 Technology
Reduce screen tearing with AMD's FreeSync 2 Technology. FreeSync 2 enables the monitor to dynamically adjust its refresh rate to the frame rate being output by the graphics card, thereby greatly reducing screen tearing, stuttering, and other artifacts. FreeSync 2 also features a low-latency API for HDR content, which shifts the workload to the pipeline of a Radeon GPU, allowing a game to tone map directly to the HDR monitor's target luminance, contrast, and color space.
Radeon Technologies
This GPU features a full suite of Radeon technologies. Radeon Chill is an intelligent power-saving feature that dynamically regulates framerates based on your movements in-game (only works with certain games). Radeon WattMan controls the GPU's voltage, engine clocks, memory clocks, fan speed, and temperature. Radeon ReLive allows you to capture, stream, and share your gaming moments from an easily accessible in-game toolbar.
With support for up to 4 monitors, AMD Eyefinity allows you to customize how your displays are shown on your desktop. Having multiple displays can not only make you more productivity, but can also provide an immersive gaming experience. If you're looking to stream online via Twitch, having a separate display for the twitch chat as well as the capture window for both your gameplay and webcam can facilitate the process.
Is one graphics card not enough? AMD's CrossFire works with compatible motherboards and allows you to install and combine up to two of the same GPUs to split the processing load and render graphics with improved frame rates and image quality for supported applications.
