I have a D810 and plan to buy a third-party manual focus only 60mm macro lens. Will this adapter work with any such lens? Thanks.
Asked by: Satya
The ES-2 is optimized to work with lenses such as the AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60mm f/2.8G ED, but it can be adapted to work other lenses. Extension tubes may be needed to achieve closer focus.

I have the older 55mm Micro-Nikkor f/2.8, 52mm filter size. Will this work; does it require some adapter?
Asked by: Michael
I just received My ES-2 today and have mounted it on a Nikon full frame body, D810 with two Nikon manual focus extension tubes: The PK-13 (27.5mm) and the PK11A (8mm). With the ES-2 mounted to the front of the 55mm lens and with it extended to almost its maximum length, the slide in the Fh 5 holder is sharp and appears to be 1:1 reproduction. Remember that you can adjust the length of the ES-2 itself as it slides on a built in sleeve.

How easy is it to get an even focus using the ES-2? I've tried scanning with a tripod and found it painfully difficult to get the camera parallel with the negative, so something always seems out of focus. Wondering whether the ES-2 will make it easier?

Yes much easier

I've seen that this lens will work with the Nikon 40mm Dx and 60mm 2.8 FX Micro lens but will it work with the Nikon 105mm f2.8 FX micro as well. If so is there a adaptor needed to make this work or does the ES -2 come with adaptors to work with all Nikon micro lens? Thanks!

Can the ES-2 be used with an old Nikkor F 50mm f/1.4 lens, 52mm filter ring?

No , 50mm f/1.4 is not a macro lens , you would not be able to focus close on the subject

Can this be adapted to fit the lens of an Olympus 60mm f/2.8 macro lens on an OM-D series camera? To fill the m4/3 frame with an image from a 35mm slide the lens only needs to be at a magnification of 1:2, so the question is really adaptor fittings.
Asked by: peter
You would need 46-62mm step up ring , but your lens and your camera have a crop factor of 2x , 120mm equivalent , you would crop out about 50% of the slide frame
