Key Features
  • 2.4 GHz Wireless Radio Transmission
  • Compatible with Canon E-TTL / E-TTL II
  • Guide Number: 85.3' at ISO 100
  • Detachable Heads with 60° Rotation
Offering the flexibility of radio flash capabilities with a design for close-up shooting, the MT-26EX-RT Macro Twin Lite from Canon uses a a pair of flashes to evenly illuminate subjects when working with a macro lens. When both flash heads are simultaneously fired, a guide number of 85.3' at ISO 100 is possible, and extensive manual adjustment allows you to dial in settings down to 1/512 power. question

I would like to use this on a 70-200 f2.8L lens. Will it fit??
Asked by: WILMA O.
YES, Technically you could buy a 77-72 step down ring and purchase the 72c adapter. In that use case you may have a small amount of vignetting to deal with.

question

Regarding the Canon MT-26EX-RT Macro Twin Lite, since this unit is RT, can the heads be detached from their cords and placed on goosenecks?
Asked by: John
The heads can be detached from the bracket, but to use them they must remain connected to the cords. You can't control them wirelessly, though the unit that sits in the hot shoe can control other RT flashes.

question

From looking at the manual for the MT-26EX-RT, the unit can control other flash units (not just the included heads). Could this unit substitute for the ST-E3-RT in non-macro situations where the macro flash heads arent connected?
Asked by: Philip
This can be a substitute ST-E3-RT. It is a wireless master.

I have a Canon MT-24 ex macro twin flash. It clips on my current 58 mm EF- 100 mm macro lens. Will this adapter fit the new RF 100 macro L lens? Will my old 24-ex macro flash still clip onto the end of the new 100 mm RF lens?
Asked by: Barry
As the Canon RF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM Lens has 67mm front filter threads, not 58mm front filter threads, you would need to purchase the Canon 67 Macrolite Adapter, B&H # CAMLA67, in order to mount the Canon MT-26EX-RT Macro Twin Lite onto the Canon RF 100mm f/2.8 L Macro IS USM Lens.

Will this work with a Venus Optics Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5x Ultra on a Canon 5D Mark IV, or does it only attach by thread?
Asked by: Dan
Unfortunately Canon MT-26EX-RT Macro Twin Lite only attaches via a filter thread in the lens. Since that lens does not have filter threads it won't work. This Venus Optics KX-800 Flexible Macro Twin Flash is a good option that does not attach via filter thread on the lens. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1165604-REG/venus_optics_kx_800_flexible_macro_twin.html
