    HP Z27n reviews

    Z27n G2 27" 16:9 IPS Monitor (Smart Buy) is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't buy HP This review is by no way a reflection of B&H — they handled this better than any store I have ever ordered through. Now to cover the monitor... The build quality and clarity on this monitor is remarkable. It truly defines a (semi-)professional drafting, photo editing, you-name-it-it-does-it monitor. The stand is uniform and solid and matches the equally outstanding sleek, minimal bezel and modern shape around the screen. The 4 controlling buttons are nicely hidden on the bottom of the bezel, not the side. The 1440p resolution and 27" diagonal span is the ideal combination for desktop viewing. The color is clean, crisp, and above all, accurate. HP has finally done it! But wait, there's the complete and utter disappointing downside — QUALITY CONTROL. The first monitor arrived with a bright green stuck pixel almost center on the screen. For a "performance" display, HP has a 0 bright pixel policy, i.e. this monitor was defective. B&H appropriately shipped a replacement once the previous was returned. The second screen had a black blob in the bottom right corner. This wasn't exactly a dead pixel, but more likely contamination. No contamination is allowed under HP policy. I requested a third monitor from B&H, but this time holding the second monitor just in case. I mean, what are the chances 3 of HP's higher quality monitors arrive defective? The third monitor arrived with a bright red stuck pixel near the right hand side of the screen and additionally contamination near the top left. I'm keeping the second screen because the contamination is isolated out of view and I'm tired of the back-and-forth nonsense. I am definitely not satisfied with the outcome, but I need a monitor. I will never purchase a display from HP again. I will purchase from B&H in the future though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent monitor A caveat: If your video card doesn't support this monitor's highest resolution you won't get it. That said, I am stuck at highest resolution of the HP Pavilion IPS monitor I had before this. And I am fine with that. I look forward to getting a new pc that supports the highest resolution. No instrux in the box on how to turn the monitor on. It was a guessing game that took a long time, since there's an on/off switch on the back, and an On switch on the front--took me a while to find it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inadequate as a laptop display This USB C monitor has all the ports I needed, and looks understated and sleek. Then, I noticed that it wasn't charging my laptop. The maximum power it can deliver from its bottom USB C port is 15 Watts. (you have to download the datasheet to find this out) This is not sufficient to be a one-cable solution for a laptop. Minor disappointment in that it doesn't ship with a USB C to C cable. Additional disappointment that USB-C video is off by default (requires enabling a Performance power mode). Yet further disappointment that it nags you to utilize an HP-certified USB C cable when you plug in.
