NiSi NIP-100-LA Overview

This NiSi Filter Holder Kit allows for the convenient use of up to two separately available 100mm wide, 2mm thick filters, along with an included circular polarizer on a Venus Optics Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens. This kit comes fully assembled and features an aluminum-alloy filter holder that is pre-installed with two pairs of plastic filter slots, a configuration that accommodates two rectangular filters. Each slot is designed to grip an installed filter only along the surface of the filter's edges.

The kit consists of two main components, a front filter holder, and a filter holder adapter ring. Use of the filter holder is easily accomplished by first locking the filter holder adapter ring onto the front of a Venus Optics Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens. After being fitted onto the adapter ring, the filter holder's pull-and-release locking lever helps to provide a reliable connection that allows the holder to be rotated 360°, further benefiting the use of graduated neutral density and other filters that are enhanced by varied positioning.

Together, the adapter ring and filter holder also accommodate the included NiSi 86mm circular polarizer filter while allowing that filter's edges to be easily gripped for convenient installation or removal. When combined with the filter holder and the adapter ring, the polarizer filter can be rotated to adjust its effect. In such instances, an external dial on the adapter ring allows for the independent rotation of the circular polarizer.

  • Allows filters to be conveniently used with a Venus Optics Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D lens
  • Durable aluminum-alloy filter holder provides two pairs of filter slots, a configuration that accommodates up to two separately available 100mm wide, 2mm thick filters
  • Each slot is designed to grip an installed filter only along the surface of the filter's edges, avoiding contact with a filter's front or rear-facing surfaces
  • Use of the filter holder can be easily accomplished by first locking the included adapter ring onto a compatible lens
  • Pull-and-release locking lever on filter holder allows for a reliable connection to the adapter ring which allows the holder to be rotated 360°
  • Adapter ring accommodates included NiSi 86mm circular polarizer filter and allows it to rotate for adjustment of its effect
  • When combined, filter holder and adapter ring allow for easy installation or removal of the circular polarizer

question

Can this filter holder be used on other lenses through an adapter ring, or is it strictly made for the Laowa 12mm?
Asked by: Aakaash B.
I have a bad experience with the Nisi 10 stop square ND filter on this kit attached to the Laowa 12 mm f2.8. There is a round double strip of light in the picture and it is because the filter does leak some light in the holder to the lens, despite the filter comes with a round strip on the borders, to prevent that leakage. If there is anyone who experience this problem, it would great to get some input. Jose

question

Will this product works well on the Laowa 12mm with the magic shift converter for Sony? Will there be more vignetting than usual?
Asked by: Yoav P.
I don't have experience with this on the magic shift, It mounts on the front bayonet, The magic shift appears to be rear mounted. So--I don't think it will interfere, bit that is not definitive.
