miggo Versa 90 Overview

The Agua Versa Backpack 90 from miggo is a camera bag which can be configured as a conventional backpack, a backpack with straps that crisscross over the wearer's chest, or as a sling bag with a single cross-body strap. Its main compartment accommodates a removable equipment pouch which can fit up to a medium-sized DSLR along with two to three lenses, including a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. Utilizing a tarpaulin, neoprene, Lycra, and polyester construction, this bag features an IPX3 water-resistance rating for enhanced protection from inclement weather.

The equipment pouch within the main compartment is accessible through a zippered panel with an upward opening on the left side of the Agua Versa Backpack 90. Along the inside of that zippered panel is a zippered, mesh pocket which can be used to store and organize camera batteries, memory cards, or small electronics. Within the main compartment and towards the side of the bag that rests against the wearer is a slip pocket with room for a 14.5" laptop and a slip pocket for a tablet computer. A zippered opening along the panel's edge adjacent to the side of the bag which rests against the wearer allows a smartphone to be conveniently accessed or stowed by reaching around the bag. For use as a tote when outside the Agua Versa Backpack 90, the equipment pouch features its own zippered closure and top carry straps. Two adjustable and removable dividers allow the equipment pouch's space to be configured according to the specific camera equipment placed inside.

A second, zippered panel with an upward opening on the right side of the Agua Versa Backpack 90 also includes a zippered, mesh pocket along its interior. When opened, that panel reveals a row of organizer pockets and loops which can be used to keep notepads, pens, cords, adapters, and other essentials organized and easy to reach. A zippered pocket located on the bag's front panel, which faces away from the wearer, can be used as a convenient space for notebooks, documents, or snacks; and its zipper, like those for the zippered side panels and a smartphone, includes a large pull that can be easily gripped even when wet.

In addition to being worn as a backpack with conventional or crisscrossed straps, as well as a sling bag, the Agua Versa Backpack 90 can be carried using its built-in top handle. When used, this bag's waist belt transfers weight to the hips for additional comfort and helps to limit unintentional shifting around the wearer such as when traveling over rough or uneven terrain. For a separately-available power bank stored inside the Agua Versa Backpack 90, an integrated USB panel with a built-in cover provides connectivity to external devices and power sources.

While traveling with a rolling case that features a dual-column telescoping handle, the Agua Versa Backpack 90's pass-through rear panel allows this bag to be mounted onto such handles for added convenience.

could be great but...

well, the basic shell and most of the design is great, but the internal camera bag for the quick access is poorly designed and cheaply made and could cause your camera to be damaged from shock/movement as your walk or fall out when opening it for larger cameras. with a full frame canon Eos R and a lens like 15-35, 24 - 105, or 24 - 70, it will slip out of the internal case and not be protected. another issue as mentioned is the straps, they are stiff and have an irregular fit making one wonder if they actually tested it for fit and camera usage. the other issue and why I returned it is that the usb charger ports were not as pictured, instead it had a different angled type with a rubber cover, like on a camera to cover ports, that attached with a t so it cannot come off but sticks out and makes it difficult to use at all. the other issue is the zipper on the quick access is so difficult to open that it defeats the purpose of a quick grab as it takes two hands and the pack set down to open and if you tried it on body as they picture, you may drop you camera that has slipped out of the internal case as I described.... now here are some pros, if you have a smaller lighter camera that permits you to zip the internal case shut it may work for you but for quick grab access, your camera may still come out if that is open and flop around outside the protective case padding. it is a shame as the overall construction and intent seem good. also if you are a smaller person, say 5.6 at 150, the fit may be fine, but at 6.0 and 190, the fit for me was awkward, even with straps adjusted due to my broad shoulders. pro: good shell and basic body design. many pockets for organizing. con: fit may be off and internal camera case is not good for heavier cameras. no way of carrying a water bottle and difficult to put anything else with camera case except that beside thin items like laptop or tablet. I am not sure why you put photos of people hiking and have no means of holding water outside the internal main compartment. neutral: you may or may not get the exact model pictured and may get different USB port, which some may like better but I did not. this is not B H photo fault but the maker for likely making a change and not updating the part number or photos.

Waterproof bag

I have not used this bag yet. I plan to use it on my trip to Iceland. However, I was able to fit my full size DSLR into the bag plus my 2.8 wide angle lens into the padded section . On the side outside where the heavy padding is for my camera and lens there was room to pack 2 more lenses in their lens case for added protection. The side opening for the camera is a genius innovation which will protect the camera from the elements. The bag made from high quality waterproof material.

Mostly does what it needs to do

I bought this bag in anticipation of a trip to the Galapagos Islands and a lot of time on small boats. I've been using it to get my gear around hockey rinks in frequently lousy weather. The gear inside the bag - Nikon D50, lenses, extra batteries & charger, iPad, etc. has been well-protected. Even with the insert there is space for other items - wallet, keys, small knitting project, etc. The biggest drawback is the lack of external storage - a slot for a water bottle (why buy a water-resistant bag if you are just going to put water inside it?) and a way to lash a tripod to the bag would have been greatly appreciated.

Do they not test their bags?

I was attracted to this bag for its waterproof exterior, side-load design, extra internal pockets for a laptop and other accessories, extra padded compartment for camera, lenses, etc. The design is attractive and it doesn't look like everybody else's camera bag. When needed, I can remove the padded camera case to carry just the laptop and work items. But the real world is a different story. On a multi-hour day, the bag when loaded up is heavy (I carry a Sony A7ii with its kit lens and accessories). The back straps and waist padding are well-intended but disappointing. I couldn't carry the bag comfortably no matter how I positioned the straps. Pay attention to those strap gatherers you see in the back of the picture. Those things will stick you in your lower back and hit your upper arms when you walk. The chest strap was not high enough or long enough for me. The straps were not positioned well or padded enough. There is no pocket or sleeve for a water bottle or to hang a tripod. I frequently had to take the bag off my shoulders. The straps pinched me underneath my arms and I could not shift the load. I tried switching to the sling method, but the waist pad is not designed for changing the strap direction. The load crushed my shoulder and I noticed the bag hung poorly off my back. This is a $160.00 bag. Why is it so poorly-designed that it cannot be worn comfortably? Which leads to a final thought. Don't they test these bags? Their designers should wear them for extended periods and use them as photographers would. It's not enough to create a side-load pocket or to convert the bag to a sling bag. In the end, the removable padded bag is probably the most useful item. I will use the bag for work days and pull my camera gear out and use my REI backpack instead. I wish these bag designers would consult with real outfitter companies like them. P.S. water bottle storage is essential. I tried to store a water bottle sideways in the bag and several internal items were wet from condensation.

Excellent but should be wider

The bag was purchased for, and worked wonderfully during, my partly wet cruises along the Norwegian coast and around the Arctic island of Svalbard (Spitzbergen). My only wish is that it be wider to accommodate professional size DSLRs (e,g, Nikon D4, D500 and D850 with battery packs). I had to leave the D4 and my battery packs at home to fit the D500 and D850 in the bag.

The features of the pack are great. I love the durable construction and confidence of carrying my camera in the protection of this pack. The padding is great and compartments are plenty. The built in charging port is clever too. I have not put in extensive time wearing the pack, but right away it is clear that the straps are more for casual wear. The way the pack sits on my back, in the backpack config, is not the most comfortable. To get it to feel right I have to take the straps all the way in (I wear medium shirts) and the pack still doesn't sit quite right. I would hesitate to take it on an extended hike. There is the sling configuration, and I expect to use this setup most of the time. Overall the pack is well built and offers good features. If you're used to hiking packs, this one may disappoint, especially with no waist strap. I will, however, use this pack and appreciate the security it offers.

I have been using it for a month so far , love it.

Zippers had high resistance at first, but everything is great now. My only small wish is that it came with an external water bottle holder.

How water proof / resistant is this bag?
Asked by: Judith
The miggo Agua Versa Backpack 90, B&H # MIWAGBKPBB90, has a IPX3 Water Resistance Rating. IPX3 means it is protected against spraying water at any angle up to 60° from the vertical, so in effect, it splash-proof. It will be fine in rain/snow or at the beach as long as in isn't immersed in water. It is water-resistant, not waterproof, so it is is not designed for full submersion underwater.
