    Sony WH-1000XM2 reviews

1000XM2 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones (Black) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Headphones I love the Sony 1000XM2 headphones. The sound is great and the noise cancellation is great. The app works well on my Axon 7 and improves the experience even more. The noisecancellation is at least on par with my Bose QC-25 and the sound is better. The Sony is not as comfortable as the Bose QC-25. The QC-25's cups are a little bigger and fit my ears better. Having said that, I can wear the Sony headphones for 4-6 hours without any discomfort. The Sony headphones do hold a little heat and the ears get a little worm after extended wearing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does Not Support Dedicated Chargers or Charging via USB Hubs I am dismayed that the only way to charge these headphones is using an active USB computer port. From the Sony site, "Charging will not be completed properly by an indirect connection, such as via a USB hub." The headphones fail to charge with any of the dedicated chargers I have. This limitation makes these a no-go for traveling because I would have to take and get out my laptop in order to charge them. I assume these require "Smart" charging ports, but there is no Sony documentation on this requirement, and "Smart" ports are not all created equal. Buyer beware.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Headphones I should probably say right off I'm a 62 y/o guy with tinnitus. But I think I'm still a pretty good judge of sound quality. I'm not sure these were $150 better than the JBLs my daughter has. It's hard because you can't A/B between them like you could in a speaker showroom or at a display of wired headphones. So I guess the difference between these and other headphones I listened to wasn't so significant that I could tell after going through the Bluetooth pairing process as quickly as possible. I like the "cupped hand over the right side mutes the headphones and switches to ambient noise feature. Very handy for quick communication with others while you're using them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than V-Moda I had V-Moda headphones before these, and I thought those were great. They lasted for years. So saying that these are better than V-Moda is saying a lot. These headphones do have a few cons, the greatest of which isn't big enough to detract from my rating, but it's there: when these are plugged into a device, then when you unplug them, they automatically shut down. However, the pros are many more and much bigger. I recommend this product. (Note: When the bluetooth is connected, if you are listening to treble heavy music, the speakers will buzz a little. Movie soundtracks are better with the cord.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite simply the best If you want the best headphones these are them. They are comfortable , the noise canceling is outstanding and the battery life is insanely long and the sound quality is unbelievable. My Sony Xperia cell phone transmits my FLAC audio files to these headphones and the sound is so incredibly clear its hard to put into words. Bottom line these are expensive but well worth it if you value great headphones.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good noise canceling, but expensive Bought this headphones to use at my work, it's very comfortable! A little bit heavy (just a bit) I can use for several hours without any problem, the battery is pretty good and it charges quite fast. The noise canceling is perfect, i used during my flight and it's awesome how it cancels the noise from outside. This headphone have a few gesture commands, the nicest one is that plays the music really low and the headphone captures the sound of your surrounding and plays in the headphones, you can talk and hear your voice clear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frequent traveler and Bose fan loves these headphones also Sony's 1000XM2 is my first foray into noise canceling outside of Bose . I have owned every noise canceling Bose headphone ever made as I travel for work. This headphone is very similar. Buy it over the Bose QC 35 Mk2 if: 1. you have android phones or sony mp3 products 2. you value features like the ability to pause the sound while capping one of the ear cups. The Bose headphones are more comfortable, but only slightly. Much has been made about superior sound quality of these headphones to the Bose. Nobody makes a more balanced sound than Bose and they do it well. This headphone sounds even better with a wider headroom and a more lifelike soundstage (read as more lifelike sound) but the sound difference is not staggering, its minor. This has become my new favorite headphone because i appreciate its new features like the ability to adjust atmospheric pressure and noise canceling characteristics. But I wouldn't throw out my Bose headphones either. This headphone is an excellent wireless headphone accompaniment to the SONY NW-ZX300 or to an iPhone! Sony has its own iPhone app. for this headphone. Comes down to personal use and choice in the end.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Sound Quality, Slight Discomfort Pros: • The packaging was really nice and comes with pretty much everything you need except a bluetooth adapter for connecting to a device that does not have built-in bluetooth capabilities. • The touch features were interesting and easy to use. •Built in mic is handy • Sound quality is superb • Noise Canceling works well in drowning out all other surrounding sounds. •Ambient sound mode can be toggled to allow conversations • Lasts for a pretty long time on a single charge. • Well built; you can feel the quality and sturdiness Cons: • Ear cushions are very soft and comfy, but the overall headphones felt tight on my ears. I consider myself to have a small head. • Supporting mobile app is a bit odd. It claims to run some optimization program, but I did not notice any difference in quality. • Noise cancellation hurts my ears after approx 2~3 hours of use. Overall: Good buy for quality, but still very pricey. Would price it closer to $200-$250.
