What is the new + designation refer that was added to this as opposed to the last model?
Asked by: Roger
There is not a detectable difference between the two. They have the same features, specifications, dimensions, and performance. The previous version of the Reflecta Super 8 Scanner was discontinued and this Reflecta Super 8+ is the new model currently in production.

All my super 8 is with sound. Has anyone ...

All my super 8 is with sound. Has anyone attempted to sync the resulting video with the soundtrack of the original, using a sound projector?
Asked by: Amihai
The reflecta Super 8+ Scanner can only transfer the images, not the sound. You could do a rough transfer of your Super 8 sound film while video recording a Super 8 sound projector image and sound. If you have such a projector, this is the fastest and most affordable. However, image and sound quality will suffer. I recommend consulting with a nearby Super 8 transfer service. Hopefully, they have a machine that can read the Super 8 magnetic track. Unfortunately, good quality is expensive. You may wish to do one film at a time. Last bit of advice, do not throw away the Super 8 film. Sell it, or give it to an interested film archive.
