does anyone make a Dtap cable to power this camera?
Asked by: Mike
I was looking for a similar solution since the BP-828 battery will not support a 2-hour or longer shoot. I came across a solution today and have ordered it. It is the Core SWX Powerbase EDGE Battery with C100/C300/C500 Cable. It is rated for 49Wh as opposed to the BP-828 which is rated for 19Wh, so in conjunction with the BP-828, it should power the XF400 for 8 hours or more. The cable connects between the Core EDGE 8.4V regulated output and the DC input on the XF400. BH #COPBEC100 • MFR #PBE-C100. Comes with correct cable for the XF400/XF405 and some other 8.4V Canon camcorders.

question

What are some alternative ways I can power this besides the obvious AC Power or the Canon Batteries?Does BH sell a power pack product that could be used to power this for longer periods of time?
Asked by: Terry
This device might work with a V mount or gold mount battery. IndiPRO Tools Mini-Tap with Canon C100 Power Connector Cable B&H # INMINI100. It's compatiblity would have to be determined by IndiPro. http://www.indiproco.com/contact-us

what is the maximum magnification of the lens? Not the 15X zoom, but the macro rating 1:1, 1:2 etc. Thanks.
Asked by: Russell
That is not something listed by Canon. In general camcorders like this will not have such a rating.

Is the handle for the XF400 compatible with the Canon GX10? If so, what is the part number for handle and how much is it?
Asked by: Clifford
No, the GX10 has a hot shoe positioned where the rear bolts would go to secure the FX400/405 handle assy. BTW ~ The difference in price between GX10 and FX405 is appx $500.00

Is the lens "parafocal"? Meaning that if you focus zoomed all the way, as you zoom out it will remain in focus. ???
Asked by: Angel
I assume that the lack of need for a parfocal lens only applies if you are running in autofocus mode. Is that correct? Can you provide a reference which describes the dual pixel operation and why it is better than other ENG focusing systems? Thanks.

question

It states its HDMI Type-C output. Is this the same as Mini HDMI?
Asked by: Paul C.
That is correct. HDMI Type C is considered a Mini HDMI connection. Type A is a full size connection, while Type D is a Micro HDMI Connection.
