This white, 1/2" by 60-yard roll of Artist Medium-Tack Tape from Devek is constructed out of non-glare flatback paper and has a thickness of 5.8 mil. It is coated with a rubber-based adhesive that is efficient at attaching to most smooth surfaces including glass, plastic, and metal. The tape is designed to be printable and can be written on with a pen or marker.

I'm using this instead of the old standard labeling tape from Permacel. It's slightly tackier, and slightly thinner, but is a reasonable alternative and it's easy to write on it with a Sharpie.
Saw reviews for the low-tack version that said it wasn't sticky enough. This medium-tack seems a little too sticky; should have ordered the low-tack but will see if it pulls up ok after being in place for a week.
