How long does it take to scan 50 slides? I have about 10000 slides I need scanned.
Asked by: john
I was taking me couple of hours for 50 slide tray. It mostly depends on the settings. Dust removal setting is very useful and can't be done later by software. Resolution and dust removal are the major effects. If you have some of your slides mounted in paper frame. They can get jammed and hold up the scanning process. That is the main factor.

Is the slide tray offered by B&H for $39.99 identical to the one that comes with the scanner?
Asked by: Claudio
As best I can tell, yes. I have been using a Powerslide X for about 1.5 years and the 2nd tray I ordered with it is identical. I just purchased a second system just before Christmas to replace a PowerSlide 3650 that has finally bit the dust after about 50,000 slides and six years of operation. This hasn't been delivered yet. The only thing I'll miss is that the 3650 support a 100 slide carousel tray (hard to find) which the Powerslide X does not.

Does is come with software to drive it and it outputs what type of image?
Asked by: Jonathan
Hi, PowerSlide X comes with software. The software has the option to save Tiff if you want to edit the images with external software or alternatively you can use Jpeg and use the PowerSlide software to process the images. There are couple of good movies in YouTube explaining the options.

I do not prefer using dust and scratch remover , I think it digitizes the film to much , I prefer doing it on a post , and this does not have infrared dust detecting

Does this scanner feed strips of 35mm film through by itself or must the user push the strip through one negative at a time?
Asked by: Alan
This scanner scan slides only. You could however, if you were so inclined, to mount the negatives individually in a slide mount (but time consuming) or get a scanner that does both. If you wanted to take the slide mount route, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/3ee4H3i
