A flexible lens for telephoto shooting, the Canon EF-mount 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD from Tamron spans a useful focal length range along with a lightweight design for even greater versatility. The lens's optical design incorporates three low dispersion elements to suppress color fringing and chromatic aberrations, while an eBAND coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and clarity. Complementing the optical design is a high-speed Ultrasonic Silent Drive autofocus system, which is benefitted by a dual MPU for quick and responsive performance. Vibration Compensation is also featured to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. Suiting this 100-400's use outdoors, it's magnesium alloy construction is also weather-sealed for working in harsh environmental conditions.

Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di VC USD Reviews
Worth the Wait
Arrived in very sturdy packaging. This lens appears to be well made and nicely finished. Autofocus is fast and image stabilization does a very good job (for those of us who are lazy about carrying a tripod. Images are sharp with the right amount of contrast. I've used Tamron lenses for many, many years and often choose to carry them instead of my heavier L series lenses. Kudos to Tamron for continuing to improve it's products. B&H, great company.
All of My Tamron Lens are Great
I have a Number of Tamron Lens from 150-600mm to the 18-400mm and Now the 100-400mm Lens is the most lens that anyone could ask for, The 100-400mm Lens Out Stands out with All out All other Tamron Lens. The Waiting time for this Lens was Well Worth the Wait, I'm Very Happy that decided to go to B&H Photo...
Tamron 100-400 nikon f mount
I generally shoot Nikon Lense but I find this 100-400mm lens to be a fine alternative to the Nikon. It compares very well to other lenses I have .

Excellent Lens
I used the Tamron 100-400 lens on my Nikon D750 with great results. Shots were clear and sharp, even distant objects such as high flying jet aircraft, at 400mm. No complaints.
Great for Bird in Flight (CIF)
Initially used Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 w/Nikon D500 & D7100. D500 focus lock/tracking and IQ for BIF were superb w/Nikkor but combo was HEAVY. Switched to Tamron 100-400mm -- much lighter, very good daylight performance. AF performance and thus keeper rate slightly diminished relative to Nikkor zoom, but I accepted the tradeoff. With D500, 37 of 153 AF points are rated for f/6.3, with D7100 only 1 of 51 AF points -- all AF points work at f/5.6.
Excellent on DX cams, OK for FF. Its size-weight are great!
This lens is marvelous on the D500 and D7500, with sharp and fast AF, on the D850 it loses its edge, but is still very good. On the Z9 it does a good job but not as fast as the Z 100-400 from Nikon (4 times the price), although the image is close. I have taken some of my best bird action shots with this lens due to its small size and lightweight, it makes it easy to track fast! I have the G2 150-600, Nikon 500 PF, Nikon 600 F4, and this $700 DLLs lens is always in my bag, it is worthy of action everywhere. One of the true gems for an open-minded photographer.
The best
This lens is quiet, not too heavy (though I definitely recommend trying one out for at least half an hour to see the real effect of the weight on your arms), and lets me take wildlife photos that I'm proud of! I will be buying from Tamron in the future because I love this lens.
