Lenovo 80XA000VUS overview

  • 1Description

The 14" Flex 5 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook from Lenovo is a well-rounded system designed for everyday uses such as browsing the Internet, streaming movies and TV shows, creating and editing documents, and video chatting with friends. Thanks to its 2-in-1 design, you can easily flip it from laptop mode to tablet or tent mode to fit your current application. Powered by a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5-7200U dual-core processor and 8GB of DDR4 RAM, it can efficiently multitask and quickly access frequently used files and programs. When handling a heftier workload, the CPU can reach a core clock speed of 3.1 GHz thanks to Intel Turbo Boost technology.

Its 14" display features a 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and is built with an IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel, which offers vivid colors and wide viewing angles. It also supports touch input, so you can utilize touch gestures and commands within Windows 10 to enhance its accessibility and efficiency. Graphical processing is driven by an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics card, and it has an HDMI port that allows you to connect an additional display for enhanced multitasking or larger viewing.

For storing your music, photos, videos, and more, it's equipped with a 256GB PCIe solid-state drive. Should you need more room, you can connect external storage solutions using its multiple USB ports, as well as its 4-in-1 media card reader, which can also be used to quickly transfer files from mobile devices. Other integrated features include 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, a webcam, microphones, speakers, a fingerprint reader, and a 3.5mm mic and headphone combo jack. The operating system installed is Windows 10 Home.

General Features

Intel 7th-Generation Processor
Intel's 7th-generation processors, also known as Kaby Lake, offer better efficiency and lower power consumption when compared to previous-generation chips. Combined with DDR4 RAM, you'll be able to run more programs and open more files simultaneously without slowing down.
Keep Moving
Rated to last up to seven hours of use, the Flex 5 can keep you company for almost the whole day. It also has an always-on USB 3.0 port that can be used to charge your mobile devices, even if the system is powered off.
Streamlined Security
The Flex 5 is equipped with a fingerprint reader, so you can securely log onto the system. It can also be used to make secure, one-touch purchases online with Windows Hello support.
Flexible 360° Hinge
With a flexible 360° hinge design, the Flex 5 notebook can easily be flipped into tablet mode to browse the Internet, tent mode to watch a movie, or laptop mode to get some work done.
Full HD IPS Display
An IPS (In-Plane Switching) display provides you with vivid colors and wide viewing angles so you can enjoy using this notebook at almost any angle. It also has slim side bezels to maximize your viewing experience.
Harman Audio
The Flex 5 notebook is equipped with Harman Audio speakers for louder, clearer sound without much distortion. It also features a sound leveler to ensure that your audio remains consistent across all programs.
Stay in Touch
Equipped with dual array noise-cancelling microphones and a 720p webcam, the Flex 5 can be used to video chat with your friends, family, and coworkers.

Windows 10

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Cortana
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Lenovo 80XA000VUS reviews

    14" Flex 5 Multi-Touch 2-in-1 Notebook is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value, can handle basic tasks with ease got for black friday weekend at $550. this was a great deal to get 8GB Core i5 and 256GB SSD. my daughter uses it for light gaming and word processing and browsing/media consumption. i agree with others that battery life is not impressive, but can probably get 3-4 hours off the charger with light to medium usage. good build quality. it has a fairly glossy reflective screen (most touchscreens are) so buyer beware if you plan to use outdoors a lot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the Price While there are better laptops out there at a much higher price point, this one is very good and an excellent buy. Love that is comes with a separate GPU and an expandable 8G of RAM. The touchscreen is responsive and we have not had any problems with it at all. We are very happy with the purchase- especially from this seller where ordering was simple, shipping was fast and price was excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed so far.. Super fast boot from cold, less than 10 seconds. I'm sure this has everything to do with the SSD... Fingerprint ID is nice too and works perfectly fast in place of a password or pin. Battery life is a revelation to me relative to any laptop I've owned in the past. It just doesn't want to run out of power but when it kicks into lower power mode at 15% I plug it in. That's after two to three days of off and on use. I downloaded Steam and a couple of games on it and it plays them very well well with little lag. Any lag is I'm sure from my wireless. Overall, well built, nice touchscreen, goes into tablet mode when you fold in half, lightweight, everything I was looking for. Keep in mind the SSD is only 256MB but it has 3 USB ports for an external drive if you need it. It also has no ethernet port just so you know, wireless only. I'm very happy with it and got a great deal on it thru B&H. Highly recommended.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead on arrival I got this laptop from the black friday sale. The computer arrived with a screen so dim that I can't see anything even with a flashlight. The only way to see anything on the screen was to hook it up to a seperate monitor. I tried updating all the drivers and maximizing the brightness, but nothing worked. BEWARE

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works out of box It's a great laptop. Screen looks great, keyboard and touchpad are smooth and have ample spacing for easy typing. I ran a few games like Assasins Creed IV and they run fine on higher settings as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fast and nice laptop So far so good, only comment is I think battery drains a little fast, by only using youtube and surfing the web for about 15 min and already was 94%

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fancy and Good for rough use but not great enough I wanted to give 3.5 since there is no option gave 4. Most of times finger sensor doesn’t work and I am not satisfied with it.
