Android 7.0 Nougat adds major productivity capabilities to the operating system in the form of a multi-window view, which allows for two apps to be placed onscreen at a time. An improved notification system allows you to interact with texts and emails right from your notification pane - without needing to open the app. Other features include file-based encryption, a Data Saver mode, the ability to scale text and icons to better suit your phone's screen, and more.

    Samsung Tab A 8.0 reviews

    8.0" Galaxy Tab A 8.0 32GB Tablet (2017, Wi-Fi Only, Silver) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tablet but Samsung fell short While I love my tablet, Samsung has fell short in the accessories department. The tablet is easy to use and has a bright display. With the New 2017 version you will have to jump thru hoops to find the screen protector and even a protective book cover. I bought the tablet at a very large electronics box store and they told me that Samsung has not sent them any of the accessories that go with it. The old Tablet A accessories does not fit the bigger 2017 version. Love it otherwise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Tab A 8.0 First time tablet owner, I needed something between a laptop and a cellphone for keeping track of work/life stuff so I made the plunge after my tax return. I love this thing, I spend good deal of time on it at night (my wife does as well). Battery lasts a very long time, I charge it once every two days. No lag when playing games or other more intensive tasks. The play store has tons of tools.I actually write a bit of code on it (python, JAVA, etc). Really nice product for the price. I read a lot of reviews and some people didn't like things such as screen resolution, it's a tablet, the image looks great, does a tablet really need high def? Nothing looks pixelated, webpages are great, zero complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really like this tablet I am very happy with the new 2017 model Galaxy Tab A. I like the 32 gb memory, which means I can have the apps I want without having to worry about running out of memory. By that I mean that with the old tab 4 8 gb, sure, it was upgradeable with a mini SD card. But by the 2nd or 3rd upgrade of an app on the SD the app would have to be removed and couldn't be re-saved back to the SD. Eventually the tab 4 started running out of memory because of all the pre-installed "software". I now have all the memory needed if that should happen again. I also like the new Samsung Notes that took the place of Memo and was able to replace Memo on my Gal S6 with it and the fact that they synchronize. Others have mentioned in reviews elsewhere as well as here, that it is hard to find accessories for this tablet. Not so. I have accessorized this one by looking online. Tablet covers and screen glass protectors are readily available for the new Tab A. I had fully accessorized it with a new cover and glass protector even before the tablet was in hand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor -buy something else I purchased this Samsung A8 32gb tab to replace my 2014 Ipad, which met with a sudden demise.I use the tablet for email, and surfing, and little else. This samsung was less than half the price of the current mini ipad, so I thought why not..It is so inferior to the ipad, it is easily explained why its half the price. The home keys cannot be seen, as there are no lights so you are constantly touching them. There are a number of apps to help this, but really Samsung no home key lights? Try using it the otherway up...conststanly hitting the power button. As you are surfing other apps constantly pop up such as calculator, gallery, calendar etc.The device must be close to twice the weight as the ipad mini. All in all forget this frustration.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New Operating System some good & bad. The usual two buttons on either side of the main button are not as shown in the picture! They are not visible at all (not lit up nor permanently visible) and thus very hard to find. You have to use keep taking guesses to find them - annoying. The OS is fast and responsive. The icons in the OS are uninspiring and lack any sort of colourful imagination - way to simple and sterile looking! The display is way too blue and hard on the eyes and you must use the blue filter in the options. Perhaps it's the newer IPS panel they are now using. The keyboard no longer has a button to minimize it when you need to, when entering in fill-in fields etc. Occasionally, there are some acknowledged buttons that briefly display a message in Chinese symbols as the app closes. Every app now, unlike the earlier versions of Android, only defaults to one app to open a file. The earlier versions gave you a choice & the option to temporarily choose that app or make it the default one to open a file it thinks it should open with. This is annoying with this new OS because if the file can't open with the default app, you have to go all the way back to the settings page for that app and unmark it as the default. Very annoying. The case, although nice looking and possibly stronger, is too slippery if your hands are dry. The tablet is hard to pick up and hold on to because it so easily slides around in your hands. I will probably have to by a silicone skin to solve this. There are some very good new features of the OS that I do like but Samsung/Android should not have taken away the ones that I mentioned above. These were moves backward and make my experience more annoying. Also, I tried writing this review from this tablet and there is something wrong with either your website, or the tablets software, or the interaction of the two because I couldn't get past the review and feedback page. It just wouldn't allow me to submit my feedback or enter a review. Ironically, this review had to be written on my Apple Macbook Pro - without a hiccup! These are my early observations - perhaps I will discover more things as I go on. Thank you, Grant Fleury, Canada

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Samsung redeems themselves I had bought a samsmsung tab 3 lite 7" a couple of years ago and it was the worse tablet I had ever purchased. I took a leap of faith and bought this 8" after seeing the 2015 version in the store ( no new version available). This one is fast, the screen is responsive, and the display is clear and bright. All the things I look for in a tablet. I didn't want to spend this much on a tablet,(bhphoto had the best price) but the less expensive ones just don't perform.
