Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't usually fall in love with a bag...but... Seriously, this is a great bag/briefcase. For the last twenty years, I have been a customer of a different company when it came to getting a laptop bag/briefcase, but luckily...they stopped making the model that I liked, so I tried Timbuk2. Dang...I am so impressed with their bag..it is perfect for everything that I need it for. I travel all the time for work, and I really appreciate the way I can get through customs with this bag, and it holds all the notebooks and tablets that I usually need to bring along with me for my job. I don't think my new bag is going to wear out soon, but when it does, I intend to buy the same exact bag again...just sayin.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost very godd, but fatally flawed I use this as an overnight and flight bag. I carry two computers and bits and pieces, mainly chargers and books. It has plenty of space, and sensible pockets. I think it's nearly perfect, but for two things: the bag lacks rigidity, meaning it tends to lose shape, particularly when held by the handle. Secondly if the bag is loaded, the single Velcro strip tears away from the covering flap, leading you to scramble to clip the clasps together [which should be possible to do one- handed but it's not], before the flap potentially detaches itself spilling contents on the floor. The Velcro strip should be across the entire width of the bag. Timbuk 2 is welcome to contact me to help design a perfect bag!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product, exactly what I was looking for. Exactly what I was looking for, very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. Has tonnes of space for all the kit that I would carry, fits my 13" MacBook Pro, charger, and USB-C adapter, and Kindle. Still has loads of space left over for my 21oz Hydroflask, notebooks, external battery etc. I have also used the bag as a camera bag, had plenty of space for my tripod, camera, and a couple of extra lenses. Also, the international shipping on the bag was excellent and arrived far sooner than I had expected it to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A bit disappointing. I started out with the Command Messenger Bag but found the aluminum hooks used for closure awkward. I also missed having a pocket on the outside flap. So I ditched the Command for the Commute Messenger Bag (size small). I like the buckles that secure the flap infinitely better; much easier to close when on the run to a flight gate. However, the outside pocket is undersized. It's marketed as a pocket for smart phones but my Samsung (approx. 3" x 5.75") doesn't fit without cramming it in at an angle. There's plenty of room on the outside flap to increase the vertical depth of the pocket; can't figure why it isn't used to create a bigger pocket. The rest of the bag features are okay. The bag gives me enough room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart people designed this bag I'm a big guy but I got the small sized Commute bag to stay streamlined around the city and it's plenty big. Ridiculous quantity of pockets, pouches and organizational areas. The TSA laptop back zipper pouch is really brilliant. I use the front small zipper compartment everyday. Can also still stuff gym clothes, etc. in main compartment. Everything you need for a full day at the office plus. Could even be an overnight bag in a pinch. "Surplus" color looks great. This bag will reduce the friction in your life and help you get more stuff done.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid bag for commuting, poor quality fastenings I previously owed a command bag and wore it into the ground. This time I wanted a slightly lighter bag for my everyday commute on the London Underground. Bag wise, it's great - my main issue is the straps and clips. The plastic clips that hold the main flap closed will often not seat properly - you slide them in, they go in at an angle and won't properly fasten. Takes a few seconds of fiddling to get them out and seat them again. That wouldn't be too bad but I have to do it three out of five times. My next issue if the quick release buckle. It's awful. The previous design was far larger and more sturdy. Once you gripped the bag strap it didn't go anywhere. The 'new' design used on the commute just unclips whilst walking. God forbid I have to run for a train - whenever I have, it just lets the strap go and the bag drops down my shoulder. Luckily I still had the strap from my command and was able to use that instead. Massively disappointed in the new design though. I'd recommend the bag to others, but with heavy caveats. Got to admit that I expected better

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag for day to day business I needed a bigger bag that could hold my new work laptop, along with everything else a small business owner needs throughout the day going client to client. This bag has delivered. The back pouch easily stores my 15.x inch laptop and also serves to free up the main compartment to store notepads, books, and other bigger items. There are enough smaller pouches for everything else I carry throughout the day as well. The strap is comfy and more than big enough, even when wearing a bulky winter coat. I've actually used the top handle just as much as the strap, but that too is well made. I've only had it a month or so, but I have no complaints about the bag so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value! I have used a well worn leather bag as an air travel carry-on for 20+ years, holding a laptop and tablet and other related items, but it lacked quick access to items without having to open the front or rear flap. So I began to search for a classic leather bag as a replacement, but then came across a couple of nylon bags and the weight difference crossed my mind as my leather bag was a bit heavy. I researched several brands before coming across Timbuk2 and after finding the right size bag, it was a no-brainer. The value for a quality bag is undeniable. I took my first flight with it and it was nearly perfect. 180º opening for computer/tablet works perfectly for TSA, and the weight is so much easier to carry!
