Timbuk2 Parkside Laptop Backpack reviews

Parkside Laptop Backpack (Jet Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 113.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this backpack This bag gets me through nearly every day. Whether I'm transporting my laptop or files, folders, or notebooks, I get a lot of use from the slash pocket. The front two pockets are convenient for items I need access to while on the go (wallet, phone, lights) and the two main pockets are surprisingly spacious. The webbing on the straps is great for my keys, the air mesh on the back and on the straps does make a noticeable difference when it comes to airflow on the back (trust a Texan). And the bottle opener is not only useful, but it also is a wonderful conversation starter. I wish all my bags were this useful and fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would definitely recommend this backpack Definitely recommend this backpack for work or school. It's got all the organization I need for a laptop, chargers, notebooks, books, pens and just about anything else you'll need for a day or two at the office, including a nice side pocket for a 1L water bottle. I splurged and got the additional water resistant as I take the train and Denver weather can be unpredictable. It's a stylish-looking bag with a slick exterior and comfortable straps and back padding. There's a smart-looking bottle opener on one of the shoulder straps that's pretty useless but a nifty touch. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this bag for business, school or anything else outside of outdoor and sports use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All around excellent bag! I purchased this bag about a month ago to use as a light travel bag to and from work. I primarily carry my 15" Macbook (fits perfectly with a neo case) and a few work folders. The straps are comfortable and the back padding is breathable so my back does not get hot on my commute. This back is also perfect for taking trips to the park for lunch or any other social outings. I have to say I am overall very pleased with my purchase. This is my second Timbuk2 bag (the first being a custom messenger that is 2 years old in perfect condition) and I can say I will continue to stick with this company. Quality product, service, and stylish! You can't go wrong with this bag!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Slim bag, great price This is almost the perfect bag for me. I love the slim design (doesn't stick out far from your back), but it also has the ability to expand pretty well. The front 2 pockets for quick access are extremely handy; I am using them a lot more than I originally thought I would. I definitely love the water bottle pocket. The 2 things I think would make this perfect is 1) more padding on the bottom of the bag and front and back sides of the pockets for the laptop and tablet sections, and 2) a little more customization to the middle zippered compartment by including more or better designed pocket features (like one zippered pocket or pockets on both sides of the compartment) it just looks a little undersigned and cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great commuter bag This is a great bag. I bought the all black version for commuting to work on the subway everyday. It seems a bit thinner than I expected, but that actually makes organization easier for me. Fully loaded it is still light weight, and it is easy to get quick access to the smaller front pockets. Branding is minimal and that makes for a very sleek look. The bottle opener on the strap is convenient for hooking other stuff like keys and water bottles to the front. Negatives: The bag is not even water resistant. I walked a few blocks in moderate rain and had to take everything out to dry out the bag and some items. It is worth getting an extra waterproof cover if you use it daily. I also thought, because of the photos on this site, that the front pocket had a dedicated key strap. It does not. I still toss my keys in there, but that organizational change would be nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome bag for every day use I love this bag. It's professional enough to bring to the office and durable enough to carry every day. I use this for my daily commute to work and also for school. I like this bag because it's comfortable to wear and fits everything I need- laptop, notebook, textbook, umbrella, packed lunch, etc. However, if you have multiple (large) textbooks to carry around with your laptop I would go for a bigger bag. Also important to note: this bag functions wonderfully in the rain & will keep your things dry for the most part, but it is NOT waterproof so be sure to carry an umbrella with you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect airline "personal" item The laptop backpack's small size qualifies it as an airline "personal" item meaning it will fit under a seat (allowing me to bring on my suitcase for the overhead compartment). There is ample room inside to carry my laptop and my micro 4/3 camera (with an extra lens) in a camera case. On the airplane I have convenient access to my laptop, iPad, and iPhone. At my destination I can take my camera gear and leave the backpack in my room. When I wear my backpack shopping, it is thin enough so that I don't have to worry about bumping into a retail display behind me. Last, but not least, the overall size is perfect because I can't overload it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Size 20 year commuter. I've had all the popular brands before so when the strap on my last backpack broke I was planning to order one with a rubber bottom. I like the idea of that sitting on the ground in wet conditions, like the train floor with melted snow. I could not find one so I looked at TimBuk as I've seen people with the messenger bags. Saw this Parkside and liked that someone mentioned it is smaller than most back packs - which is true. I see people carrying these over sized backpacks and glad I'm not. This thing is the perfect size for a commuter bag. If they made this model with a rubber bottom and marketed this a perfect sized city commuter bag it could be very popular item.
