question

How accurate is the colour temperature reading on this?I used to use Sekonic meter earlier but it's no longer available. other options are too expensive. plz advise. Thanks in advance.
Asked by: Yogesh
Thinking about purchasing one and I will test it against my Minolta Color Meter. But DO NOT hold the Lumu like in the picture that Jasper posted in the reviews. Of course it's going to give an inaccurate and warmer reading if you're hand is right next to the sphere. The sphere should be at the top when taking reading and be unobstructed. Duh!

question

Can it measure the CRI of a light?
Asked by: ALLEN D.
I don't think so. It measures R, G & B levels specifically, not a continuous spectrum. So it will give you Color Temperature & Green Shift; Chromaticity (x, y, Duv, CCT, and Lux); Illuminance in Lux; Cine/Video, Photo Flash (overall light measurement with % contributed by flash); and regular incident light exposure readings.

question

Can it measure the color temperature of a flash. For example if I add a gel and want to take a reading to match ambient light? I assume not but checking.
Asked by: Paul
Yes. It can. But use a cover (Black paper OK)to around the flash light first then check it. It should be get a true color temperture.
