Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    Acer Aspire E reviews

    17.3" Aspire E 17 Series Notebook is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for the price It is a very good quality screen even though it is not IPS with good colors and good viewing angles. Matte screen so there is zero glare Has a solid state drive (SSD); I would never buy a laptop that didn't have one Very good looks Even though the speakers are below, there is very good sound, which bounces off the hard surface of a desk or table. Great value for the price when on sale Makes me feel proud to own one because of its build quality (the kind of feeling you get when you buy an Apple product). It is not the level of Apple but “Applesque” for its quality relative to price. The video cam could be better (I don't know why most laptop manufacturers neglect to provide a high quality webcam); I have not used the machine for any kind of gaming as I am not a gamer. I would have been happier if the laptop came with a DVD player but it doesn't.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Another good deal .... Have owned a half dozen Acer Notebooks ... most were 17". This one has Win 10 with an SSD drive. My other Win 10 Acer with a HDD is way too slow ..... this one is acceptable. The Geforce graphic card seems OK but the display panel itself seems a bit grainy for a Full1080 B&H pricing makes it worth a go ...............

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very favorable price/performance ratio! I use my laptop right now for just simple e-mail and web browsing. I also used Word and Excel. I seems to be functioning at a very high level. I highly recommend this laptop. I usually get i7 processors, but the i5 seems to be enough for what I am doing. The only thing that I feel is going to take me time to get used to is the keyboard. Typing is a little cramped. There is plenty of real estate to make the keys a little larger. Other than that, I can't see anything more that I could ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast! This is one fast laptop for the money!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Weak Battery I like this Notebook so far. It runs well. However, the battery life is about 3 hours. There is no easy way to remove the battery so you can just run it off of AC, which is what I would like to do. Would love to get a "better" battery to replace the one that came with the unit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from SLOW with on-site frequent dropped/post connections Suspect a faulty net card or somesuch. Acer folks would help with troubleshooting, but who has time to run a disk check every time you use the computer? The solution never lasted more than 2 hours before I'd have to run another disk check. FRUSTRATING! It's going back....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Laptop Good size screen, matte so no reflections. Pretty fast ssd. Could have better battery life. Includes standard junk that I had to delete. Big laptop, better stationary than mobile. Great price. Only thing is I wish it had better quality touchpad. Speakers are decent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop for a great price Love the screen and the speed of the computer. I needed something reasonably fast but with high resolution and a large screen or I can have two windows open at the same time. This is exactly what I wanted and I highly recommend it .
