This is a good well made product with one exception. The shoe on the bottom cannot attached or screwed to a ball head ( no female at the bottom) with out a cold shoe adapter. Other wise, no issues.

The light is bright enough for my needs and is quite bright for its size... The small form factor is quite helpful too... The base is constructed to be attached to a camera... but if it had an adapter to fix it to small tripods... it could have been even better... It comes with 4 magnets that let you attached the diffusers, but one of the magnets was missing. But otherwise... all in all, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Haven't had a chance to use this out in the field, and...well, my cats run in terror when I try to use it to video them! But it's bright, light, and runs on plain old AA batteries. I'm especially grateful for the soft box attachment included, as that eliminates harsh shadows. I wish I had pictures to share to show off how it works, but I have scaredy-cats!

Easy to use and carry, for about 30 dolars do what propose and has an amber-colored cover for a light less white (besides having dimerization). It´s okay for me.

The light itself is good. All the functions work and are helpful. It has three diffusers that really tone and shape the light. HOWEVER, there is one important caveat which cost it one star. The unit cannot be screwed on to a light stand, tripod or other equipment that has this ability. It has a hot shoe much like you would find on a flash unit. So, you need to buy an adapter to screw it on.

Can this unit accommodate a Sony HDR-CX405 HD Handycam with a Vello CB-600 Straight Flash Bracket attached? How about this same unit attached to a Canon PowerShot ELPH 180 Digital with the straight bracket.?

Will this light work with Pentax K5 DSLR?

According to Tiffen This light will work with any camera that has a flash shoe mount. It is not an ETTL flash, the camera will make the flash fire but cannot control the light intensity being projected. The user will have to adjust his camera settings to match the flash output manually. This flash also works as a constant light for video applications.

Yes, the flash output is adjustable. There are 10-step dimming. The Kalvin temperature is not adjustable.

At this time, Only Canon and Nikon cameras are supported. That being said, we see no reason it would not work with the GH4.
