The main reasons I bought, instead of the free versions was so I could use the 120fps setting that the free didn't have. And it works much better without the jerkiness and pauses. The other reason was to get technical help that the forum couldn't answer and that was a huge disappointment. After completing projects, I move used files to specific folders for storage where I know I've used them. In 2 cases relinking didn't work even though the files are clearly there. I called tech help and they said they would escalate and send me something within 5 minutes to send back with system info and such. I never got anything back after hours and called and made sure they had the right email. Still almost a day later and nothing. Also unlike Adobe, they have no remote help, so major disappointment, 5 hours of work on 2 projects that may be unsalvagable and the possibity that it can happen again. You can't go to a folder as in Premiere Pro and indicate this it the right file, whereby then all the rest relink correctly.

The Studio version of Resolve is conceivably the best investment I have made. I switched from FCPX to the free version of Resolve, which prepared me for the paid version, and opened up the world regarding color correction and efficiency. The Studio version is a delight and entitles me to tremendous flexibility over any NLE.

I used the free version until I installed new hardware in my PC. After the Studio installation, my rendering increased by 5-7 times. I haven't got into the advanced features, yet, but I plan to.

I run my video production company using all Linux machines and DaVinci Resolve Studio is a fantastic tool and works so well in our pipeline! It's very fast, stable, and pairs up very well with our Linux (Ubuntu) eco-system. I have two more editors and they're on the same setup.

Great software at a great price

This is first rate, professional grade software. I've been using the free version for years and finally decided to purchase the full version. I'm not even sure that I'll use the added features all that much but I wanted to support good companies like this that actually sell their software as opposed to Adobe's rental system. Davinci Resolve also includes, not just video editing, but compositing, audio editing and color grading (the latter of these is actually an industry standard). You can't go wrong with Davinci Resolve.

Recently i purchased this activation card and I noticed a serious Lag while editing footage from sony A7Siii (XAVC 4K 4:2:2 24 fps). i am using a Laptop Acer Predator Helios 300 with a graphic card NVIDIA GTX1060, 30 G RAM. i did not notice this Lag with the free version of Davinci. What's the solution to this Lag because I have tried to use Open CL, CUDA and Auto mode and nothing worked well. i am also connecting the laptop to a monitor Via HDMI. What's the solution ?

It is difficult to troubleshoot your system through this channel. we recommend that you contact us via chat, email, or phone (1-800-606-6969) It is important to note that the paid version and the free version are essentially the same program. paying for it unlocks more tools, settings, and support for higher codecs but it does not change the hardware requirements. If you were able to accomplish something with the free version there is no reason that it cant be accomplished with the paid version. Check your settings (such as optimized media, render cache, playback settings, Timeline Proxy mode etc). Check your storage (typically SSDs or Raid Arrays are required to playback 4K video files especially 10 bit 4:2:2 from the A7S) Check your computer's Task manager to see how much CPU/GPU/Ram is being used while you edit or export. I hope this helps.

The activation key can activate as many times as you want. When you go for your third activation, Resolve will disable the last two activations and activate on this new computer. So you can have up to 2 computers running Resolve.
