Key Features
- Micro Four Thirds System
- 90mm (35mm Equivalent)
- Aperture Range: f/1.2 to f/16
- One ED Element, One Aspherical Element
An ideal portrait-length lens for Micro Four Thirds shooters, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 45mm f/1.2 PRO from Olympus pairs the desirable 90mm-equivalent focal length with an ultra fast f/1.2 maximum aperture. The combination of the slightly narrow field of view and bright aperture enable producing distinct shallow depth of field imagery, and also suit working in difficult lighting conditions. This lens is also characterized by its advanced 14 elements in 10 groups optical design, which incorporates low dispersion, aspherical, and high refractive index glass elements to control a variety of aberrations and distortion for great sharpness, clarity, and color fidelity. A nine-blade aperture is featured as well, to achieve a smooth bokeh quality when working with shallow depth of field techniques, and a Z Coating Nano has been applied to individual elements to limit flare and ghosting for improved contrast.

No matter what auto focus lens one uses on the camera body, if the camera supports "focus stacking", it will focus and work with the camera in the focus stacking mode.

how does this lens compare to the 75mm f/1.8?
how does this lens compare to the 75mm f/1.8?
Both are excellent lenses, just a matter of different focal lengths. For portraits with very shallow depth of field, the 75mm is a great choice.

This lens doesn’t appear to have image stabilization. Is that an issue shooting on a body that doesn’t have IBIS (such as a GH-4)?
Just like in the days prior to IS, a steady hand and appropriate shutter speed are required for sharp images.
