Strix Scar Edition
The ROG Strix Scar Edition notebook is portable, powerful, and has a special carbon fiber design on the keyboard.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10-Series Graphics Cards
NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards can deliver up to a 40% increase in performance over the previous generation. Not only are they powerful, they can deliver similar performance to their desktop counterparts with a slight performance difference. This changes mobile gaming, allowing you to max out your game's visuals settings so you can enjoy it at its best. Furthermore, this system is VR-ready so you can enjoy VR games and apps for a different take on computing.
NVIDIA G-Sync Technology
NVIDIA G-Sync technology syncs the display's refresh rate with the graphics card's frame rate output to reduce input lag, screen tearing, and stuttering for smoother experience.
144 Hz IPS Display
This notebook is equipped with a 144 Hz IPS-level display, which provides you with low lag, 100% sRGB coverage, and wide 178° viewing angles. With these features combined, you'll be able to spot your enemies easily and enjoy a smoother gaming experience.
Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
Backlit Keyboard
The ROG Strix Scar Edition is built with a RGB-backlit keyboard with four customizable zones. It also has four extra hotkeys, support for N-key rollover, and 0.25mm-deep curved keycaps for a comfortable typing experience.
Thumping Audio
Built with two side-firing speakers and Smart Amplifier technology, this laptop is able to deliver loud audio with increased dynamic range and bass without damaging the cones. Furthermore, ROG Sonic Studio III adds in-game noise cancellation and voice-volume stabilization for gaming.
Asus ROG Gaming Center
Asus ROG Gaming Center is an optional, downloadable software that lets you monitor and adjust system settings such as CPU and GPU frequencies, voltage and temperatures, and more. Gaming Center also encompasses other software and features such as ROG GameFirst, Aura Core, and XSplit GameCaster.

Windows 10 Home

Start Menu
After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8's Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.
Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Laptop, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.
Microsoft Edge
After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.
Windows Store
For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.
Windows Continuum
Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it's not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.
Xbox on Windows 10
Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Xbox integration allows for PC players to match up against Xbox One players on supported games, and if you have an Xbox One, you can even stream compatible titles to your PC. Native support for recording with the new Game DVR feature makes it easy to capture and share your gameplay. The new DirectX12 takes better advantage of multi-core processors, giving games a performance boost, even on older hardware. Windows 10 also features native support for virtual reality headsets, such as the Oculus Rift.

    ASUS ROG STRIX GL503VS-DH74 reviews

15.6" Republic of Gamers Strix Scar Edition Notebook is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good computer, however hardware issues out of the box Bought this computer with high expectations, however occasionally upon start up the screen does not start. Haven't been able to find an answer as to the problem yet, however working on it. Other then that the computer itself is a very nice product, great packaging and i love the carbon style body. GPU is fantastic and plays games very smoothly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty pleased with my purchase I got the laptop a week ago so i thought i’d write a review for those who are considering this laptop like i did, because there aren’t many reviews of this laptop out there. So where do i start.. Build quality: Pretty solid, aluminum lid with the rest of the body being very sturdy plastic. It feels really well built. Lid can be open with one hand (or one finger, whichever you prefer) and in general, this is a very beautiful laptop. Screen: 144hz 7ms IPS panel, what more can i say, Its pretty bright. Hardware: Quite fast CPU, GPU is really amazing, GTX 1070 in a laptop thats an inch thick is amazing, games run really smooth along with that 144hz display. Too bad that this one has only a single channel ddr4 ram of 16gb. But i can’t really complain, games still run smooth where you won’t need to play any modern games on less than high settings. And also, my unit was bloatware free! Cooling and acoustics: I can say that its loud, but you really can’t hear it if you’re using headphones. When i played PUBG, it reached up to 90C+ which was too hot for my liking. So after that i tried to test it with aida64 and right away, it thermal throttled, reaching 99C.. i was so disappointed, so i went to xtu and undervolted it to -100mv and it was stable, stress tested it on xtu and the highest it got was 73C (before it was 80C). Then i tried aida64 again and the highest it got was 91C, no more throttling. There was also no stuttering in games so i’m quite pleased, just wished the cooling can cope with the heat in the first place.. GPU temps were not a concern tho. Overall, i really like this laptop as this is my first gaming laptop. Really fast and plays buttery smooth. Oh and before i forget, my unit does not have any screen problems where the screen takes a long time to boot or that the screen only shoes a black screen after turning the laptop on (like the ones asking the questions on this laptop page).
