LiveU Solo Overview

Start streaming high-quality HD video and audio with the LiveU Solo HDMI Video Encoder by connecting your camera or video device via HDMI. Leveraging LiveU's Cloud Service, you can easily broadcast to a large variety of content delivery networks, including YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Wowza, Ustream, and more, using bonded connectivity over dual cellular networks (requires separately available modems), Wi-Fi, or Ethernet.

The plug-and-play functionality, combined with the power of LiveU's Reliable Transport protocol (LRT), enables a simple setup for high-quality streaming video with versatile distribution options as well as stable transmission, even when operating in remote locations. If operating remotely, use the internal battery to power the Solo for approximately three hours. Plus, the compact form factor won't bog down your production by weighing down your camera.

This is the Solo video encoder only; cellular modems must be purchased separately or as part of a kit.

I have several questions as I'm just getting into ...

I have several questions as I'm just getting into live streaming for weddings - bought Sling Studio last week, and finding it's recommended to pair with LiveU Solo. Question 1: I have Verizon 4 GLTE Cell service - do I need to subscribe to the $45 a month service to get this to work in the field? Question #2 - if answer is yes to #1, do I also need data plans with other cell providers or does the $45 cover that? Question #3 - would I need the modems you bundle in different packages to make this all work?To understand where I'm coming from - lets say I'm shooting / live streaming a wedding in a church with no wifi, or in a park somewhere and have no service. Thanks.

You can use this product with Verizon. However you would need to direct any questions about the Verizon service to Verizon. We sell modems as well, but they are for AT&T and T-Mobile cellular networks. If you were to get those, you would need service plans with those providers and the subscription plan through LiveU for bonding.

question

Could this stream simultaneously to Facebook and YouTube and Twitter?Does it get the streaming keys by itself after initial setup, or they have to be inputted every session?Once setup is it a simple operation? Thanks a lotMichael

You are able to distribute to multiple destinations. To do so we integrate with our partners at Switchboard.live, through which you can create an account and stream to multiple destinations with HD quality. Switchboard is a One-Touch option in the Solo Portal to easily sync to your Switchboard.Live account. The Solo Portal also includes One-Touch connectivity to Facebook, YouTube and Twitter accounts. Using this you can set up a post directly from the portal with out collecting stream keys or URL's. Currently with Facebook, You do have to recreate the post for every start and stop of a stream. This is due to Facebook counting every stream as a separate event and disabling the Stream ID once it is done.Once you set up your stream you simply need to connect your camera to the Solo and hit the play button on the device or on the Solo Portal and you are live.

The LiveU competitor VidiU lets you broadcast directly to Youtube from its admin page at no cost provided you do not want to do bonding. Does LiveU offer something similar not requiring a service or is it straight RTMP when not provisioned with a cloud service?
Asked by: Tyler
There are a variety of click-and-go options provided. You do not need to pay for bonding to have it broadcast to YouTube. You can use RTMP, but there are bunch already ready to go.

is one year subsription included in $999? now
Asked by: SHINOY
For the LiveU LRT Cloud Bonding Annual Service (SKU: LILUSOLOPREM), that is available separately or in a kit (SKU: LISOLOHDMIBK): https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1471135-REG/liveu_lu_solo_hdmi_bundle_solo_hdmi_video_audio_encoder.html. The LiveU Solo can work without the subscription, but will be limited to 1 cellular network. This subscription allows for bonding of two 4G LTE cellular or WiMAX modems. Please also note that cellular connections require a plan with a cellular provider.
