The NiSi S5 150mm Filter Holder with Circular Polarizer for Nikon 14-24mm Lens mounts onto your lens via a removable lens adapter, and enables mounting an included circular polarizer and up to two 150mm square filters. The circular polarizer is removable, and can rotate independently of the filter holder by using the built-in thumbwheel. The filter holder utilizes a no-tray design, and 150mm square filters slide directly into the unit.

The unit screws onto your lens and then a spring-loaded tension pin holds it in place. This allows you to orient the square filters to the desired horizon, whether level or off-level. Once you have set your filter holder's orientation you can independently adjust the rotation of the circular polarizer. The lens mounting adapter is interchangeable, so you can use the adapter with other lenses by sourcing an adapter for your specific lens (additional adapters not included). The filter holder includes a carrying case with a compartment for the filter holder and a separate compartment for the circular polarizer.

The circular polarizer is threaded specifically to work with this filter holder.
It accepts up to two square filters that are 2mm thick.
The two filters rotate together and the circular polarizer can be rotated independently of the two filters.
The lens mounting adapter can be swapped out with other adapters, so you can use this holder with different lenses. The adapter included with this filter holder is for the Nikon 14-24mm lens.

S5 150mm Filter Holder with Circular Polarizer for Nikon 14-24mm Lens is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product - Best holder for 150mm lenses This is, by far, the best holder for 150mm. Just another level compared to any competitor. Using the polarizer (included!) it's easy and gives a real big leap forward in terms of usability comparing to other brands. Actually, there is not another holder like this for using the polarizer. The construction is sturd, really well built and it feels like it can last forever. I have no idea why there should be fake review like the one from """James""" below, but what he wrote is wrong at any level. Let me explain: 1. "the polarizer is difficult to take off". First, in other holder there is no polarizer, so it's pretty easy to take off something that is not there. Also, you should try better, I had no problem removing the polarizer and it can be a bit tricky the first or second time, just get used to the tool you are using and will be easy in few times. A trick: don't screw it to hard, it will make it more difficult to extract and not more secure, it's already secure like that. 2. Light leaking. Sorry, I had an huge laugh here. 90% of NDs have a foam gasket. You need to add the ND (WITH the foam gaskets, like 90% on the market) as FIRST element closer to the lens. This is "filter photography" 101, first lesson, first sentence. If you follow this simple rule everything will works great, I used the S5 for 15 min exposures with the 15 stop and had no problems at all. Just make sure the ND is first element, the foam gasket is looking the lens and the filter is in the middle. If your ND (from 6 stop and above) doesn't have a foam gasket (??) then think about buying filters from serious company that add the gasket or buy one gasket for 3-5$.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A beast with unique features A word of caution: if you thought the Nikon 14-24 lens was big, be prepared for the size of this accessory. It is huge, as all filter holders for this lens have to be. That said, it is very easy to install (does NOT require removing the lens). The polarizer is not the easiest to install however, and I have been paranoid that I will drop it during either installation or removal one of these days. The filter holder is removable, so you can use the polarizer by itself (another word of caution - using a polarizer in a lens this wide will make ugly bands in sky - use only for reflections). The included case is also big, and may need a separate bag to carry with you if you are hiking. BIG advantage is that you can separately rotate the polarizer from the filter holders if you are using GND filters. I think this is the best in the business right now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional! Quality, clever construction! Works a charm on the Nikkor 14-24mm lens. Especially like the ability to tune the circular polarizer independent of the plate filters. A winner from NiSi!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Potential, but miss Already having the Lee SW150, I was anxiously looking forward to having independent control over the polarizer. This allows you to use grads (rotated one way) and control polarization separately. In this regard, NISI is definitely on to something. Anyone who has their V5 100mm system will speak to this. I was also looking forward to a systemthat didn't require taking off the lens from the camera body to install, like the lee adapters. This NISI filter locks on only from the outside. It does feel like a secure hold too. So that's the 2 stars. However, there are 2 main issues with this S5: 1. The polarizer is ridiculously difficult to get off. There is nothing to grab onto, so you literally apply a perpendicular force to the rim of the polarizer while turning the knobs. All of this force on these two little aluminum knobs means that it will most likely loosen and degrade with time. Doing this outdoors in changing light and challenging conditions, with gloves on...it would be impossible. 2. Massive light leakage. Unless all of your filters are gasket sealed around all edges, you will have light leak on long exposures. Perhaps not if you are shooting with 3 stops of ND or less, but anything over 5 and you will get bleed from all 4 corners. Even then, it is doubtful you would get a filter with all 4 sides sealed into the holder since it is a fairly tight fit. As far as work-arounds, you would need to use gaffers tape on all 4 corners...ugh. NISI did not design any light leakage protection into this product and there is a clear gap. You think they would have learned from the Mk2 light block that Lee created in 2015 to fix this issue in the Mk1. I wanted to like this, but it is basically unusable for my intentions. Will be processing a return and go back to hand holding the grads and using the rotation of the holder for polarizing and long exposures since it offers much better light leakage protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well built I purchased this to mate to the new Sigma 14mm-24mm 2.8 Art ultra wide angle and my D750 body. Out of the box it fit perfectly. I screwed on the super wide polarizer and was ready to shoot. The fact that they filter holder spins independent of the polarizer lens is quite unique and works very well. Now time to save up for a couple of ND filters and the kit will be complete!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good investment I was worried about its built quality before placing my order, however it was very well built and easy to install on my lens. I can't wait till I give it try in real life ;)
