Manfrotto 190go! Carbon Overview

An especially compact yet versatile tripod, the 190go! Carbon Fiber M-Series Tripod from Manfrotto has a maximum height of 57.9" with the center column fully extended, yet its four-section legs afford a folded length of just 17.7". Its lightweight carbon fiber construction weighs 3 lb and can support over 33.1 lb of gear.

Enabling fast setup and take-down, as well as a streamlined profile, the M-Lock System twist locks are used and require just a single 90° rotation movement to swiftly deploy the individual leg sections. The 190go! is also characterized by its center column that can be positioned at a 90° angle, parallel to the ground, for working from a minimum height of just 3.5". The independent leg sections, with four set leg positions, benefit working on uneven grounds and the carbon fiber tubing is both lightweight and rigid for high stability. Additionally, an Easy Link attachment in the top casing extends the versatility of the tripod and allows for attaching an LED light, reflector, or other accessories without the need for an additional stand or rig.

Manfrotto 190go! Carbon Reviews

LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT!

Perfect travel companion as a carry-on. I have these other Manfrotto carbon fiber model MT057C4-G and MT055CXPRO4. The former is a bit more robust yet heavier and perfect when connecting other accessories to my tripod setup while the latter falls short of the 190go and is now relegated to being used as a spare because I prefer these turn-lock mechanism for length adjustment over the clip locks which frequently snag and hurt when your fingers get caught! Just keep in mind that this is a little thinner/smaller than the MT055CXPRO4 but if you need sturdiness then might as well go with the MT057C4-G

Ive been considering a Carbon Fiber tripod for some time, mostly for hiking. Were planning a couple trips next year and this will be perfect. It will fit in a carryon suitcase. Looking forward to getting more use out of this tripod.

Very steady for such a light weight tripod.

I've wanted a good steady light-weight tripod for traveling. This is it. I've used it with a Nikon D500 and the 200mm-500mm lens, and it was extremely steady.

The tripod is fantastic, though it is scarcely lighter than my aluminum version by Manfrotto. Still, its short length make it ideal for packing in a suitcase. I was disappointed to see that the manufacturer suggests not using this in saltwater. I wish the B&H site made reference to this, as I live in a coastal region and frequent local beaches. Regardless, I'll use it like my past tripods and if the saltwater takes a toll, then so be it.

GOOD CHOICE FOR ME

For a few years, I was using a MeFoto travel tripod while I was in the learning stages.  As I progressed to better camera equipment, I found that I needed a beefier tripod.  I find this 90GO! to be exactly what I needed.  It is very sturdy and works great with my Manfrotto Pan/Tilt head.  My Nikon D750 with my 28-300 lens works in concert with this tripod very nicely.  What drew me to this model is the twist locks, especially after pinching myself on the tripods that have the clip locks.  The other thing that I like about this tripod is that the center post can be brought all the way up and then put in a horizontal position.  It allows to different angles and height adjustments when taking macro photos, especially low to the ground.  If you are over 6 feet tall, this may not be the tripod for you, as it will not go high enough for you.  For my 5 foot frame, it is perfect.  Also the carbon fiber makes this tripod much lighter and the legs will not get cold to the touch as the aluminum does.

How does one balance the load so that the tripod does not tip forward with the column fully extended horizontally?
Asked by: David
You can balance the Manfrotto 190go! Carbon Fiber M-Series Tripod while using the horizontal arm by changing the length of individual legs, by how far you extend the arm, or by using weights, like sandbags, to balance the tripod.

Asked by: Helen
The Manfrotto 190go! Carbon Fiber M-Series Tripod has a 3/8"-16 stud and the Manfrotto XPRO 3-Way, Pan-and-Tilt Head has a 3/8"-16 socket. So you could attach the head without an adapter.
