The Tentacle E functions as a master clock, or to jam-sync to an external timecode source. Compatible with pro equipment, the Tentacle outputs SMPTE-12M-standard LTC timecode and supports all SMPTE TC rates. How does this work exactly? If Tentacle Sync ...

How does this work exactly? If Tentacle Sync plugs into a camera via (BNC only? via XLR? via 3.5mm inputs?), and adds timecode to the audio track (must the camera record in more than 2 audio tracks for this device to record the timecode?), how does it sync to the audio recorder? Which audio recorders are compatible? Only bluetooth audio recorders? F8/F8n? Mixpre? or will it work with H5? H6? Or do you plug a phone or iPad into the audio recorder to receive the timecode?

Will the tentacle time code generator work with ...

Will the tentacle time code generator work with Red Komodo and using a zoom f2 w BT? If not what bt generator will work with zoom f2 and red komodo?
Asked by: adam
Yes, you can make this work with the Dual set (BH #TETE2) rather than the single Bluetooth unit. For the RED Komodo, you will need these two items: Komodo Expander Module (BH #REKOMODOEM), this will allow timecode connectivity through BNC, as this is the cable to connect module to the Komodo (BH #REEXTTOTC3). For the Tentacle, you will need this BNC to 3.5mm to connect to the Komodo Timecode port: (B&H # TEC06). Then for the Zoom F2, you can use the Y-cable, connecting to the Tentacle via 3.5mm jack, and still allowing a 3.5mm microphone to be connected as well. Then using a smartphone with Tentacles app download, you can connect the two bluetooth Tentacles to the phone and monitor and sync your setup.

Can I use this to sync my BMPCC6K and my zoom h5?
Asked by: Oliver
Hello! I have a BMP 6K and I use it with my tentacles all the time. However, I have a SD 633 recorder which has a timecode generator. The Zoom H5 does NOT have a timecode generator. You'll have to get a recorder with timecode generator. Some examples are Sound Devices Mix-Pre series, 633, 664, 688, 888. Zoom F8, F6, F4.
