Ken-A-Vision TU-19744C overview

  • 1Description

Ken-a-Vision designed the 110 VAC version of their monocular-head configured U-19744C HDMI & USB Comprehensive/Presentation Scope 2 to deliver a true presentation microscope. For this purpose, they outfitted its digital 3.2MP camera module with simultaneously-broadcasting HDMI and USB A video output ports, an SD external memory card slot, and a wired mouse that allows for on-board control of the camera without a computer. Utilizing an angled head provides a more comfortable viewing experience that non-angled heads are often unable to provide. The camera is built into the head and is co-witnessed with the eyepiece so what is seen in the eyepiece is exactly what the camera sees. It captures 30 fps 1080p videos and JPEG still images that can be monitored externally or saved onto an optional SD memory card.

The optical system features a 10x eyepiece with an integrated pointer set in a 30°-angled monocular head, and a four-objective 360° rotating turret with click-stop positions at each lens. The eyepiece also has special coatings to protect it from the damaging effect caused by high humidity. Four objectives from 2x to 40x produce a broad magnification range of 20x to 400x making this microscope a versatile observation tool. Its achromatic glass objectives are designed to correct for color and geometric distortions in the center 60% of the field of view. If you need to change or replace objectives, Ken-a-Vision designed them to DIN standards to enable eyepieces from many manufacturers to be installed without making modifications.

A mechanical stage features a single high-positioned specimen holder that is designed for pinning down and securing larger specimens. The stage offers precision motion in the X and Y axes by way of Vernier motion controls. The LED illumination system features top and bottom light sources with separate switches and rheostat brightness controls. Another highlight of this microscope is its low-positon precision fine and coarse focusing.
