Peak Design SLL-BK-3 Overview

Carry your equipment in comfort and style with this black Slide Lite Camera Strap from Peak Design. This strap uses strong, removable anchor connectors that attach to the eyelets of your camera or the included mounting plate, holding up to 200 pounds of gear and easily supporting most DSLR and mirrorless systems. By pairing this versatile connection with its 39 to 57" adjustable length, the Slide Lite can be configured to work as a sling, shoulder, or neck strap.

This 1.3" wide nylon webbing strap is padded internally to help ensure comfortable use, and its two sides feature different properties: one side is smooth for sliding the camera to your eye when set up as a sling, while the other has a silicone grip that prevents slipping when using it on your neck or shoulder. The four included anchor points can be attached and detached from the strap with a single hand and left on the eyelets so you can easily switch between cameras while shooting.

  • Wearable as a sling, shoulder, or neck strap
  • Length is adjustable from 39 to 57", with a width of 1.3"
  • Removable anchors used to connect to equipment, hold up to 200 lb
  • Leave anchors on your gear so you can easily attach and detach them from the strap while shooting
  • Smooth and nonslip sides that allow you to choose the amount of grip desired
  • Internally padded webbing provides improved comfort without being bulky
  • Four anchor connectors and a mounting plate are included with the product

I recently purchased both the neck strap and wrist strap. They are easy/intuitive to use and are comfortable for all-day use. Plus, I like the added security of both the locking connection and the magnets. Great products!

I needed to move to non-metalic attachments to my camera; the steel split rings were wearing out the brass eyelets on my old Leica. The only problem, it was extremely hard to get the string attachments through the eyelets on the camera; I had to use dental picks to push them through. Do newer cameras have larger diameter eyelets? Anyway, the PD strap is all setup now, a nice, secure upgrade from that old leather Leica strap.

Not as good as the regular Slide

The quality of the Slide Lite is excellent, just as to be expected from Peak Design. Unfortunately, the Slide Lite is just not as comfortable as the Slide. I am using the Slide with my Z9 and big telephoto lenses very comfortably around my neck and as a sling. But for my Q2 I wanted to have something smaller. The size of the Slide Lite makes it an ideal pairing. But it is missing one crucial feature of the Slide: the silicon padding in the neck. This makes the edges of the Slide Lite way harsher and makes it cut much more into my neck. Especially with T-Shirts and as a sling, this is so much less comfortable than a Slide. And that's comparing it using a lightweight Q2 on the Slide Lite and a 3kg Nikon Z9 + 100-400mm on the Slide. The latter combination is just way more comfortable, even after long hours of continuous wear. Considering that the Slide Lite uses much less material and doesn't have the "complexity" of the silicon padding in it, the tiny price difference makes it a much worse value for money.

By far the best neck strap I've used

I was hesitant to get this one over the trap that came with my camera. I was like "A neck strap is a neck strap. It won't make that much of a difference." Boy was I wrong. This is super comfortable and I feel much more relaxed when I'm carrying my full-frame mirrorless camera with this strap. Highly recommended.

Clunky and Inelegant Strap

If you carry your camera high the buckles sit near or on your neck, which is uncomfortable. You can’t really shorten the strap past the anti-slip gel, which I don’t need or want. Worst of all the straps are so clunky that when you raise your camera to your face the straps bunch up between your forearms and chest, or around your hands. This is very annoying and for this reason alone I’m returning the strap and certainly would not recommend it. The cheap strap that came with my camera outperforms this product. I’m considering adding the anchor links to the stock strap, but even those are a bit clunky. The quality of each component seems high but the functionality suffers due to the overall design. If you’re looking for a minimal, unobtrusive strap, this probably isn’t for you.

The description says the anchors can hold up to 200 lbs, how much can the strap itself hold before breaking?
Asked by: David
The specs list the load capacity of the strap as 200lbs. That would have to include both the anchors and the strap material because they are both single points of failure.

My last PD Strap the rubber melted all over my shirt and bag. Does this use the rubber grip on the shoulder like the large one?
Asked by: Ray
It does still have the rubber on it but they corrected this issue on the new ones. I have had my new one for 2 years now and haven't had any issues with the rubber rubbing off on my shirt.

Will the Peak Design Slide Lite strap fit on a Fuji Xt3 without me having to remove anything from the camera?
Asked by: Leonard
Sure will! Just need a specific place to attach the Anchors to the camera. Doesn't require anything to be removed. Ideally, you'll use the stock split rings that come with the Fuji out of box.

will it work for the Canon 90D
Asked by: Edgar
All the strap needs to "work" is the 2 anchors every camera has. You could even use the tripod attachment hole at the bottom to carry the camera upside down (the black metal attachment is for that). The strap is VERY strong. So are the wire attachments.

Will this strap work with Canon SX70 HS?
Asked by: Michael
Yes, the Peak Design SLL-BK-3 SlideLITE Camera Strap (Black), B&H # PESLLBK3, may be used with the Canon PowerShot SX70 HS Digital Camera. You would simply connect two (2) of the Peak Design Anchor Connectors for Peak Design Straps (4-Pack) that are included with the strap to the strap lugs built into the Canon PowerShot SX70 HS Digital Camera, to which you may then connect the Peak Design SLL-BK-3 SlideLITE Camera Strap.
