    East Brooklyn Labs BAL-M50X reviews

BAL-M50X Bluetooth Adapter for ATH-M50x Headphones is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Novel idea, horrible execution I was so excited when I ordered this adapter, more excited about it than the headphones themselves. When it arrived, I immediately noticed the poor quality, the buttons and on/off switch feel like they would break easily. The set up is simple, just snap it in place, turn it on and pair it with a device, but the sound quality is terrible. There is an awful stutter (I was able to fix), and the connection kept dropping, even though the adapter was fully charged and I was sitting right next to the Bluetooth device. Hopefully there will be a V.2 in the future that don't have these issues.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality Just arrived and tested with a one week old pair of headphones. As soon as I took them out of the packaging there was a rattle inside the unit as if something is loose. Cheap flimsy plastic case. The audio is REALLY poor quality. The balance is way out - most of the sound comes out of the right speaker, and only a small fraction out of the left. To hear anything at all, you need to turn the volume up, which introduces a severe amount of distortion. I've tried combinations of lower volumes on either the phone or on the unit, and still can't get a decent volume without distortion. Would be great to get a refund on such an overly expensive unit that doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sound quality is horrible There is a huge difference in sound quality. If you are used to hearing music on ATH-M50x, this bluetooth receiver is not built for high quality sound. I tried it with cellphone as soon as it arrived (only for 5 mins before hitting the return button). Also the build quality is really bad. The on-off switch doesnt have any feedback and feels like will come off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this! Great accessory that make awesome headphones even better. I've been using them everyday at work for a little over a week. I've able to use them non-stop for a little over 7 hours on a single charge. I cannot feel any weight added to the headphones and it is actually less cumbersome than the audio cable usually plugged in. The adapter clicks perfectly into the headphones and seem like they are a part of them. Recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Expected more Great little add on to an amazing pair of headphones. But the Bluetooth doesn’t always work amazingly. It cuts out occasionally, especially when pulling your phone out while walking. It doesn’t automatically connect, and can on rare occasions drop connection immediately after connecting. Also, while waiting to pair it repeats two different chimes, one of which is the same chime it makes when it makes a successful connection, which is confusing. But the most disappointing thing of all is there can be a slight buzz; I get that bluetooth means you’re going to suffer some audio quality but this interference sounds like pure shotty connection. All that said, it occasionally works perfectly. And it is a convenient and neat little gadget that allows me to get through the day with only one pair of headphones, which I take as a big plus.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely Terrible. Just save up another $50 and buy a real pair of bluetooth headphones. Right out of the box the adapter split in half as if it hadn't been glued together. I taped it back together to see if it would even work. I guess it does. It has a measly 6 hours of battery life, all of the buttons feel cheap and rattle if you shake the device. The worst part though, is that there is a ticking sound in my left speaker whenever I turn the device on. I don't know how to get rid of it and it is ever present. $50 bucks is way overhyping this thing. More like $10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I have yet to have an issue with this device. It is easy to charge and easy to use. The only thing I had a very small problem with was putting the device on the headphones. I just kept thinking I was going to break it, because it needs a bit of force to get it on the headphones properly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from BAL-M50x The BAL-M50X work great with my iPhone X running iOS 11.2.6. However, it doesn't work with my MacBook Pro Retina and Mac mini running macOS 10.13.3.
