Mint Camera SLR670-S Overview

The Polaroid SX-70 is considered a classic among instant cameras. MiNT Camera has brought the SX-70's classic design into the modern era with more manual control over the camera, by creating the brown SLR670-S Classic Instant Film Camera. The most recognizable part of the camera is the folding design, which makes it compact when collapsed, and easy to open by pulling up on the viewfinder. Additionally, this Classic edition of the SLR670-S features a more streamlined appearance and does not feature strap lugs or a bottom tripod mount.

The Time Machine is an external module that connects to the SLR670-S and gives full control of the camera's shutter speeds. There are also two different auto modes, A100 (SX70 film) and A600 (600 film), which are in tune with the ISO's speeds. Unplug the Time Machine and the camera will automatically go into A100 mode.

The electronics have been fully revamped and the electronic eye has been updated over that of the original SX-70 to give a proper exposure. If you find your image a little over- or under-exposed, adjust the brightness control wheel to control the exposure for another picture in the same location and lighting.

Focusing is made easy by the SLR viewfinder and the split image circle; rolling the focusing wheel to the left or the right slowly focuses what you see in the image circle. Each pack of instant film contains a built-in single-use battery to power the camera.

Mint Camera SLR670-S Reviews

Great restoration but my camera developed a light leak

The SX-70 is a great compact camera and this restoration is well done. Folded up, it fits in the inner jacket pocket well. I specifically bought mine for a summer motorcycle trip. The new Polaroid film only develops instantly in the hot heat of the Summer, at 85-90 F degrees outside. Otherwise the film is slow and takes two weeks. I would use a blow dryer on it to accelerate the development. Unfortunately, my camera developed a light leak. I'm not sure where exactly but it has laid in the draw since.

I'm a big fan of analog cameras. I have one original classic SX-70 with brown skin so I think having another one in special edition would be a great idea. Noir is cool definitely :) Quite fashionable. I'm totally satisfied with the camera. It's a refurbished camera but the condition is still perfect. MiNT upgraded the motherboard of the camera so it can sync with the time-machine. I don't have to stick with ND filters when I use 600 films anymore! This is great because I can enjoy shooting with Polaroid in all lighting condition. Fastest shutter speed is 1/2000 (WOW!) and with T/B mode I can shoot light painting / night view. They make a breakthrough:) I am happy with my SLR670-S Noir.

I'm in love with Polaroid again!

I actually have a few SX-70 cameras, but no doubt this is the best one I've had. I usually got failed photos (wrong exposure, blurry images) with my original SX-70 because the fastest shutter speed is only 1/175. Very frustrated! After using SLR670-S Classic, things have changed. The aperture is fixed at f/8 <--great depth of field. (You can see the first photo I shoot in a cafe) It was 1/30 with color 600 film. Accurate exposure, sharp image! No more failed photos!!! The condition of the camera is great. Thanks MiNT:') Such a great camera!

B&H is, as always, excellent to deal with. The camera works very well. Be advised the camera you receive is not brand new but a reworked camera that was built in the 1970's. My camera was born on February 3rd, 1976. This being the case, do not expect your camera to be without cosmetic flaws. There will nicks and dings and their will likely be gaps in the case when the camera is folded.

The best Polaroid camera!

I bought Instantflex TL70 about half year ago, I truly fell in love with it, I love its vintage outlook, I love its function, and then I go and figure out more about MiNT, and found this gem, their signature camera MiNT SLR670-S. This is a modified vintage camera, a true vintage from 1970s. But to my surprised, when I open the box, the camera looks like new. It offers 2 auto modes, A100 and A600, both are very easy to use, just focus and shoot and the result is awesome. And then it offers a range of manual shutter speed, including 1/2000. The manual shutter speed is very useful if the lighting in the environment is complicated. I would recommend this camera to everyone who loves Polaroid!

Mint has made shooting Polaroid integral film into a much more controlled and creative endeavor! I own several folding Polaroid SLRs (SX-70, Alpha 1, Sonar, SLR680)...but, the Mint SLR 670 is by far my favorite of the bunch!

Best Polaroid ever made!

Are there similar issues with refurbished model ...

Are there similar issues with refurbished model similar to the SX70? Such as the whirring noise with the motor? Is there a warranty?
Asked by: Stephen
I contacted MiNT Camera concerning your inquiry. MiNT states that the SLR670-S was launched in May 2016. They state it combines the best of the 670α and 670m, which can use both SX-70 and 600 type film. Taking the body of the SX-70, they’ve upgraded the internal components with modern electronics in order to expand the capabilities of their instant film cameras. The SLR670-S is basically an upgraded version of SX-70, with better technology and is more reliable. In response to the whirring noise, they state that SX-70 and SLR670 cameras may seem to have loud motor sound for first-time users. Other cameras usually do not have these since they do not have the film eject function. But when you encounter more SX-70s, you will find the motor sound normal. It does not affect the camera's functions. The Mint Camera SLR670-S Instant Film Camera purchased new comes with a Limited 3-Year Warranty from the manufacturer.

My understanding is that it is a refurbished camera. I have the SLR670-s in silver and it is a spectacular camera. Handles like a dream. Beautiful camera and worth the $
