The EZ-Pro can be set up or collapsed in seconds. Its supporting rods open and close like an umbrella, and the included speed ring makes it easy to simply snap it onto the light. The interior of the softbox is lined with a reflective silver material and features a removable inner baffle, both of which help direct the light towards the subject and give you control over the composition. An outer front diffuser is also provided to help even out light intensity across the softbox. Both panels can be left in place while the softbox is collapsed to make for an even easier experience.

FotodioX EZ-Pro Deep Parabolic 36" Reviews

Way too big and heavy for no reason!

This softbox will do the Job as described, no question about that, but it is so large, and extremely difficult to open. (Opens like an umbrella, but requires a large amount of force to click into place). The Parabolic shape that is the reason it is so big is totally unnecessary, being that it is a diffused softbox, the front diffusion panel becomes the light source, and it is no more directional than a much smaller and lighter softbox with the same front diameter. After using this one for a number of months, I bought the Angler 36 (search ANBB36DB) and wow how easy it was to set up, pack up, transport, and maneuver on location at each shoot! Not sure why this thing exists

Awesome Softbox

This thing is a snap to assemble. Once you attach the diffusers via velcro, you leave them attached. This makes setting up super fast.  Just take the softbox out of the case, unfasten the velcro of the outer diffuser just enough to get your arm inside, to reach the locking mechanism. Then put the metal end on the ground or top of your foot and push down to lock it open it like a umbrella. The lock easily snaps into place.  When you’re done shooting, do the same thing but press the button on the mechanism while pushing down on it to take the pressure off and release it. Stick it back in the case and you’re off to your next shoot. You need to periodically check the screw on the Bowens mount to keep it tight. But that’s just common sense. People complaining about the ring coming apart just aren’t paying proper attention. The material is nice and the construction is great. Especially at this price.

Really easy to set up and also light in weight. Good soft directional light. Great for portraits.

Decent softbox but this is NOT parabolic

I hate how companies pick trendy words for marketing. This is not AT ALL a Parabolic design nor has an adjusting arm so the Parabolic here is just use as a marketing too. It is a deep softbox, that is all.

Amazing value for money. Works nicely with my AlienBee strobe and produces a beautiful soft light, ideal for single person portraits. Setup is not too difficult as is the teardown.

A little flimsy, but great if you leave it out

— Preface: I probably looked through 30+ parabolic and octagonal softboxes and spent at least 6 hours before deciding on this FotodioX, partly because it was on sale. I'm the kind of person who'll spend 5-10 hours (if not more) to read reviews and watch YouTube videos to figure out the best bang for my buck. I'll almost always pay more for quality, but not so much that I'm going to go overboard. If something's better and cheaper, then that's even better! — The one MAJOR ding right off the bat is that the velcro on the 2 layers of diffusion is definitely going to no longer be effective if it's used heavily (lots of set-up/tear-down) and so if you're doing so several times a week then I can't see this lasting more than a year or two. HOWEVER, if you're like me and it's just to use for a home setup (filming worship for church) with minimal on-the-go use then it'll be perfect. The diffusion works great with my Godox SL60W and provides a great spill. If I could do it all over I might purchase a softbox with diffusion that hooks together or something like that, but for the price point this was a great purchase! No regret!

The headline says it all. If you're looking for a basic softbox this will definitely do the job. Great buy for the price.

question

Will this work with the Aputure C120d? Both are Bowens mounts but this is much cheaper than the Aputure Light Dome.
Asked by: Cyrus
Yes it will. It is a little harder to deploy, but totally functional.
